5 Things Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Failed to Answer

The manga Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which was highly anticipated and considered one of the best releases of Winter 2026, recently concluded after only 25 chapters. It gained a lot of attention as a continuation of the popular Jujutsu Kaisen series, a standout among modern action manga. Although Modulo was engaging, its short length meant it wasn’t able to fully develop its potential.

Though many fans were hoping for a more satisfying conclusion to Jujutsu Kaisen, the ending, while having some strong points, still feels incomplete. Now that the manga has finished, readers were expecting answers to long-standing questions, but several mysteries remain unresolved. Here are five of the biggest questions the series left unanswered.

5) What is Aoi Todo Upto?

A major reason fans were so excited about the Modulo manga was their desire to find out what happened to their favorite characters. Aoi Todo, a particularly popular character, was confirmed to be alive through extra content included with a chapter. However, the content didn’t show what he was up to, leaving fans eager for more.

The series unfortunately doesn’t follow up on Todo’s story; he’s never mentioned again after his initial appearance. Given how compelling he was in the first series, it would have been great to learn what he was doing, but Modulo concludes without revealing anything about Aoi Todo’s fate.

4) Who was Stronger, Dabura or Mahoraga?

Mahoraga has quickly become a fan favorite in Jujutsu Kaisen, largely because it’s consistently challenged the series’ most powerful characters. In the recent continuation of the story, Mahoraga faced off against Dabura, who was established as the strongest Simurian. Their fight was a major standout moment and a thrilling part of the action.

The fight was full of twists and turns, and just when it looked like someone was about to win, it ended suddenly without a clear victor. This battle was a highlight of the sequel, but leaving it unfinished is a significant weakness of the manga, as we never find out who actually won.

3) How Was Yuka Cured From a Terminal Illness?

In the second-to-last chapter of Modulo, Maru begins a ritual meant to eliminate cursed energy and change how it works within sorcerers. This ritual also appears to heal Yuka, who was previously suffering from a life-threatening illness. The series doesn’t explicitly explain how Yuka was healed, leaving viewers to interpret the connection between Maru’s actions and her recovery, especially considering the ritual’s chaotic yet harmonious nature.

One idea is that Maru might have used a technique similar to Mahito’s, which lets him reshape souls and bodies. This could explain how Yuka’s brain tumor disappeared. However, this is just a theory, as the story doesn’t confirm it. Therefore, we don’t know if Yuka was actually healed, or if her illness was only put off for a while.

2) How is Coexistence Accepted?

The manga’s core idea revolved around humans and the Simurians living together. But the story ends with this peaceful coexistence simply happening after a ritual, with no real explanation. This is a significant flaw because the struggle to achieve coexistence was a major theme throughout the entire story, and resolving it so quickly feels unearned and unsatisfying.

The story’s conclusion demonstrates that people worldwide, even those without magical abilities, now acknowledge the Simurians, evidenced by the widespread public attention given to Dabura’s battle with Mahoraga. However, the series ultimately falls short in fully realizing the importance of its central idea, and this lack of impact significantly weakens the ending.

1) Is Megumi Really Dead?

A highlight of the new season was definitely seeing familiar faces from the original series and finding out what they’ve been doing. Fans were especially eager to see Megumi Fushiguro, as the other two members of the main group had already made appearances. Because Megumi played such a crucial role in the first season, updates on his situation were highly anticipated, even more so than for characters like Nobara. As the head of the Zenin Clan, his return or even news about his current status would resolve a lot of unanswered questions.

Throughout the series, the question of his fate is never fully answered. Even in the final chapter, Nobara only hints at wanting him to still be around. Given how significant this character was, the fact that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo doesn’t confirm whether he’s alive or dead is surprisingly frustrating, and it’s something fans will probably debate for a long time.
