5 Villains That Need to Appear Next in DC Comics’ Absolute Universe

DC Comics’ Absolute Universe has been a fascinating project, largely due to its compelling villains. Throughout series like Absolute Batman and Absolute Martian Manhunter, the heroes have battled incredibly powerful enemies. This makes sense considering the universe is heavily influenced by Darkseid, who has given villains a distinct upper hand. In this world, characters like Veronica Cale, Ra’s al Ghul, and even the Joker aren’t trying to change things—they are the established order.

Darkseid’s impact has created a surge in villains, but heroes are beginning to fight back. A corrupted ‘Justice League’ has formed to suppress these heroes, though they won’t be able to handle threats like Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Green Lantern. To truly challenge the heroes, the Absolute Universe needs more powerful and unique villains. Here are 5 villains who should make their debut.

5. Abra Kadabra

The Flash’s classic villains, the Rogues, are fan favorites, and it’s easy to see why. The current storyline features Wally West battling a revamped version of the team, but it’s also introduced villains he doesn’t normally face, such as Abra Kadabra – a futuristic magician who uses technology to create convincing and dangerous illusions. Whether time travel is possible in this version of the Flash’s world is debatable, but introducing changes like Abra Kadabra could offer a fresh, exciting challenge for the hero.

4. Hugo Strange

Hugo Strange might seem like an unexpected choice, but I believe he could be a real threat to Absolute Batman. Absolute Batman is incredibly strong physically, but this version of Bruce hasn’t developed the same mental discipline as the regular Batman. Although he resisted breaking down during his time in Ark M, Hugo Strange is an expert at psychological manipulation. He wouldn’t be a physical match for Absolute Batman, but I think Strange could be very dangerous if he focused on attacking Bruce’s mind.

3. Bizarro

I’m a big fan of the character, so I’d love to see an ‘Absolute Bizarro’ introduced. While there are likely other Kryptonians in this universe, I think the first real challenge to Superman’s power should be a warped version of himself. Even regular Superman struggles with Bizarro because of his immense strength and unpredictable nature. Maybe Ra’s al Ghul could create a flawed Superman clone as a weapon, but it breaks free and becomes a serious danger to everyone.

2. Doctor Psycho

Okay, so as a movie buff, I’ve always thought Doctor Psycho was a pretty weak villain for Wonder Woman – seriously, the guy is just awful. He’s got these messed up mind powers and, frankly, his whole worldview is just hateful and really goes against everything Wonder Woman stands for. Now, imagine a version of Wonder Woman who’s even more compassionate and loving – like, the absolute best version of her. Seeing her go up against someone like Doctor Psycho, someone who embodies everything she hates and can actually make those twisted ideas happen? That would be an amazing fight, honestly. He might not be the most popular villain, but I think he’d be perfect for testing Absolute Wonder Woman.

1. Prometheus

The heroes of this universe haven’t teamed up yet, but when they do, they’ll need a truly challenging villain. I believe Prometheus would be the perfect choice. He previously defeated the main universe’s heroes easily, and an Absolute version – as powerful as Absolute Batman, but supported by the universe’s villains – would be an incredible threat to every hero in this world.
