Revan is a hugely popular character from the older, expanded Star Wars universe-often called Legends-and it’s easy to see why. His compelling story-going from a Jedi to a Sith Lord and back-was a highlight of the acclaimed video game *Knights of the Old Republic*. Although the newer Disney-era Star Wars has hinted at his past, the full story remains untold. Officially adding Revan to the current timeline would be a smart move, pleasing both longtime fans and newcomers. It would connect the old and new stories, and add depth to the Star Wars universe with a complex character from a period we haven’t seen much of.
Revan’s complex nature is a story in itself, and there’s potential to expand on their legacy with new tales that would add even more depth to the existing Star Wars universe.
5) A Live-Action Disney+ Series
Okay, as a huge Star Wars fan, let me tell you how I’d bring Revan back. The *best* way would be a live-action series, something really gritty and intense like *Andor*, but set way, way back in the Old Republic – thousands of years before Luke and Leia. Imagine a multi-season show that tells Revan’s *whole* story, from when he was a promising Jedi all the way through his fall and eventual redemption. We could really dive deep into the Jedi and Sith philosophies of that time, kind of like what *The Acolyte* is starting to do with the High Republic, but with Revan at the center of it all. It would be epic!
A live-action series could truly capture the grand scale of the Old Republic era, bringing its massive battles and varied planets to life thanks to a larger budget. It would be a great way to introduce new fans to this largely untold period of galactic history. Even just the enigma of Revan’s mask and who’s behind it could create a thrilling first season, building to a dramatic reveal in the finale.
4) A Comic Book Run
A comic book series, lasting for many issues, would allow for a much deeper exploration of Revan’s personality and struggles than a movie or show could. This format would give creators the space to really examine Revan’s inner thoughts and the complex ideas they grapple with.
This approach would allow for a deeper exploration of the events surrounding Revan, like the Jedi-Sith and Mandalorian Wars. The story could be told through the eyes of various characters – Revan’s friends, foes, and even loved ones. A detailed comic book series would be an ideal way to give dedicated fans the in-depth details they want and also introduce Revan to a new audience.
3) A Cameo or Reference in a Future Project
A simple yet impactful way to re-establish Revan’s place in Star Wars lore would be a brief appearance or mention in a future movie or show. Imagine a Jedi researching an old holocron that tells stories of a famous warrior who mastered both the light and dark sides of the Force. This kind of subtle reference would confirm Revan’s existence without needing a large-scale commitment like a whole movie or series.
Mentioning Revan would be a clever move, sparking curiosity for those new to the character and rewarding longtime fans who already know his story. It’s a respectful nod to the past while subtly hinting at potential future storylines, without revealing too much too soon.
2) A Video Game
Rather than just updating the original *Knights of the Old Republic*, a new game could tell a fresh story about Revan, potentially continuing his adventures after the first game’s events. This new storyline could send him on a brand new quest, building on the established ‘Legends’ narrative and both respecting his gaming roots and expanding his story.
Both *Star Wars: Fallen Order* and *Star Wars Jedi: Survivor* successfully added new characters, like Cal Kestis, to the official Star Wars story. Cal has become a fan favorite, and many want to see him appear in live-action shows or movies. A game similar to *Fallen Order*, but set during the time of Revan, would create a deeper and more detailed world with improved gameplay. This would be an excellent way to reintroduce Revan to the gaming world where his story first began.
1) A New Publishing Initiative
The High Republic was a huge undertaking for Star Wars, expanding the universe through novels, comics, and manga set centuries before the Skywalker family’s story. It proved very successful, and now that it’s finished, starting a new series focused on the Old Republic era would be a natural next step.
Just as Avar Kriss is central to the stories of the High Republic, Revan could serve as the core figure for the Old Republic era. Exploring his strategic brilliance and unusual connection to the Force could reveal how his impact quietly shaped Jedi beliefs for generations. This approach would allow Revan to be seamlessly integrated into the current Star Wars canon, making his reappearance feel earned and believable.
