The X-Men exploded in popularity during the 1980s, thanks to writers like Chris Claremont and Louise Simonson who built a vast and complex world of mutants. This world expanded over time with contributions from many other creators, introducing a huge variety of characters – heroes, villains, allies, spies, and government agents. One particularly important development has been the introduction of Omega-class mutants. These are the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe, possessing abilities beyond any others and often wielding world-altering power. They represent the peak of mutant potential.
While the X-Men have incredibly powerful Omega-level mutants, not all of them are equally strong. Some Omegas have abilities that aren’t very impressive, and these five are among the weakest – their powers are even a little strange at times.
5) Maddie

Maddie debuted in Deadpool vs. Old Man Logan #1 and is considered one of the weakest Omega-level mutants. She has the ability to teleport herself and others across vast distances with seemingly no range limit, which is a powerful skill. However, there’s a significant drawback: when she teleports people who aren’t incredibly durable or able to heal quickly, they arrive severely disfigured. Essentially, her power is great for her, but dangerous and harmful to everyone else, regardless of whether they’re an ally or an enemy.
4) Kobak

Arakko is a fascinating addition to the X-Men’s recent history, showcasing a unique mutant culture. These mutants are more focused on combat and possess impressive powers. Kobak is one of several powerful Omega-level mutants introduced during this time, and surprisingly, he’s considered one despite having relatively unremarkable abilities. While in his animal form, he has enhanced strength and resilience, and can launch quills capable of penetrating almost any material – though this hasn’t been tested against extremely durable metals like adamantium or vibranium. Essentially, he’s a super-powered porcupine, posing a threat, but not a particularly overwhelming one.
3) Forge

Forge can seemingly create anything, which sounds amazing, but it has limitations. He doesn’t necessarily understand how things work – he just builds them. He often has to disassemble his own creations to figure them out, which is how he’s become so skilled. Plus, his powers depend on having materials readily available. If he’s only got wood, he can build incredible wooden things, but that’s all he can do. To truly shine, Forge needs a well-equipped lab with a wide variety of resources.
2) Death

Death is one of the powerful offspring of Apocalypse and Genesis, known as the Arakkii. Though he’s an Omega-level being and a skilled fighter, his abilities aren’t particularly impressive compared to his siblings. Death can create a disintegrating mist, but it’s easily countered. A strong opponent could simply disperse the mist with a clap, and anyone who controls wind or uses telekinesis could neutralize it completely. While Death is immune to his own mist, overall, he doesn’t fully live up to his potential as an Omega.
1) Hope Summers

Hope Summers is well-known, but her individual powers are somewhat limited. While she’s a telepath, it’s not a particularly strong ability unless she’s connected to the Phoenix Force. Her true strength lies in her ability to manipulate the powers of others – an Omega-level talent. She excels when working with a team, amplifying their abilities, but when alone, she relies on her telepathy and impressive fighting skills. Though physically fit, she’s still vulnerable and can be defeated by someone with a weapon and a bit of luck. She isn’t a powerhouse who deals massive damage but is easily defeated; instead, she’s more like a vital but delicate system – incredibly useful in the right circumstances, but still fragile.
