2025 was an incredible year for fans of Marvel and DC Comics. After more than two decades, the two publishers teamed up for the highly anticipated Deadpool/Batman and Batman/Deadpool series. These books weren’t just about those iconic characters meeting, they also featured fantastic side stories with exciting team-ups. The series were a hit with both readers and critics, and fans were eager to see what would come next. Marvel and DC delivered by announcing another crossover: Spider-Man and Superman, uniting these two legendary heroes for the first time in 50 years.
DC Comics revealed details about Superman/Spider-Man #1, which will be available on March 25, 2026. The comic is created by the talented team of Mark Waid and Jorge Jimenez and will cost $7.99, with a cardstock variant cover available for $8.99. This new series celebrates the anniversary of the iconic team-up from the 1970s, uniting the two most popular heroes in comics for what promises to be an exciting read. Similar to the successful Batman/Deadpool #1, this comic will feature multiple stories by top writers and a wide range of variant covers by leading artists.
Superman/Spider-Man #1 Is a Story 50 Years in the Making

Back in the mid-1970s, Marvel and DC Comics collaborated on several crossover events, most famously 1976’s Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man. Like many crossovers of the time, Superman and Spider-Man initially fought each other before joining forces. This story remains a classic and helped define the crossover comic book genre. A new team-up between Superman and Spider-Man aims to capture the spirit of that original story, but with a fresh, contemporary approach.
Clark Kent (Superman) and Peter Parker (Spider-Man) unexpectedly investigate the same news story, uncovering a huge conspiracy that will change everything. This brings them into conflict with the combined threat of Brainiac and Doctor Octopus – a clever pairing of villains that echoes a classic team-up from the past. Doc Ock previously worked with Lex Luthor in an earlier story. With Brainiac expected to play a major role in the upcoming Superman movie, it’s no surprise DC is featuring him in this highly anticipated crossover comic. But, similar to other successful crossovers like the one with Deadpool and Batman, this comic offers much more than just a superhero brawl against two super-intelligent villains.
A series of unexpected team-ups and stories are coming soon! Tom King and Jim Lee will pair Lois Lane with Mary Jane Watson, while Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber reunite Jimmy Olsen with a surprising adversary: Carnage. Sean Murphy will bring together Superboy (from his time with the Legion) and Spider-Man 2099. Gail Simone and Belen Ortega will explore a dynamic between Power Girl and the Punisher. Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere will deliver a story featuring Superboy-Prime visiting Spider-Man, referencing the hero’s symbiote suit—and Prime’s habit of reading comics promises some interesting moments. Lastly, Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott will pit The Daily Bugle against The Daily Planet in a thrilling newspaper rivalry.
That all sounds fantastic, and it’s sure to excite fans of the series. DC has also revealed a range of variant covers for the book, created by renowned artists including Daniel Sampere, Jim Lee, Stanley Lau (Artgerm), Raphael Albuquerque, Dave Johnson, David Nakayama, Gabriel Dell’Otto, Mikel Janin, David Talaski, and Clayton Crain.

DC Comics is bringing back the beloved team-ups between Superman and Spider-Man. They’ll be re-releasing the original crossovers with Treasury Edition 50th Anniversary of Superman vs The Amazing Spider-Man #1 arriving on January 7, 2026, followed by DC and Marvel Present: Superman and Spider-Man Treasury Edition #1 on February 4, 2026.
Superman/Spider-Man #1 will be released on March 25, 2026
