6 Best One Piece Games, Ranked

One Piece is a massive global franchise, with a popular manga, long-running anime, and now a successful live-action series. While there are many ways to experience this incredible world, good video games based on One Piece have been hard to find. There have been a few decent tries, but fans have often been disappointed. If you’re looking for the best One Piece video games available, check out the options below.

Here are the six best One Piece video games.

6) One Piece: World Seeker

Let’s be honest, World Seeker isn’t a fantastic game, so you might be surprised to see it here. The truth is, there aren’t many truly good video games based on One Piece. But World Seeker isn’t just the least bad option – it actually has some interesting ideas that One Piece fans might enjoy.

This game offers a new adventure set on a prison island, but it’s unlikely to become a standout part of the overall story. It feels more like a side adventure, similar to filler episodes in the anime, though Luffy has some enjoyable new ways to get around. While it’s not a great game overall, fans of One Piece will probably still enjoy experiencing the story.

5) One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3

The Pirate Warriors games take the characters from One Piece and place them in the fast-paced, action-packed style of Dynasty Warriors. It’s a simple, over-the-top experience, and that can be a lot of fun.

What’s really cool is you get to play as different characters from the Straw Hat crew, making this game a perfect way for newcomers to experience the series. The controls are easy to learn, too, so it’s a fun, family-friendly game everyone can enjoy.

4) One Piece (Game Boy Advance)

This One Piece beat ’em up for the Game Boy Advance doesn’t reinvent the genre, but it’s an enjoyable adventure. Developer Dimps consistently delivers solid games – they don’t often create huge successes, but they rarely disappoint either.

So, that pretty much sums up playing One Piece on the Game Boy Advance. It’s got this really bright, pixelated style, and they added a ton of charm with all the little animations. The story isn’t super long by today’s standards, but back when it came out on the GBA, it felt pretty meaty and substantial.

3) One Piece: Unlimited World Red

This fighting game successfully blends the large-scale battles of the Pirate Warriors series with the classic, close-quarters combat of older beat ’em up games. It tells a new story that feels like a side adventure within the anime’s main plot. And visually, most of the levels are surprisingly impressive – something you don’t always see in One Piece games.

If you enjoy Unlimited World Red, you might also be interested in Unlimited Cruise, which was released for the Wii in two parts. While it’s not as good as Unlimited World Red, some fans still find it fun. However, both games can be hard to find, so it’s okay to skip them if you’re looking for something easily accessible.

2) One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4

Many fans consider Pirate Warriors 4 a celebration of the entire series. The game lets you battle through waves of enemies with a huge cast of characters from the story, and most of them have special moves and fighting styles.

The game also offers a fresh take on the Wano Arc storyline, which will appeal to longtime fans. The biggest drawback is that it plays very much like a Dynasty Warriors game – lots of enemies and over-the-top action. If you’re not a fan of that style, this probably isn’t for you. However, players who enjoy feeling powerful and mowing down hordes of enemies will really enjoy it.

1) One Piece Odyssey

If you don’t typically enjoy Musou-style games, One Piece Odyssey offers a different experience, changing the series into a traditional turn-based RPG. While it might seem unusual for a series known for fast-paced combat, this new approach largely succeeds in Odyssey. Plus, the game is fun to explore, and the graphics beautifully recreate the look of the anime.

Okay, so it’s not perfect. The fights are usually pretty easy, which might disappoint hardcore RPG players, and the story does drag a little in places – that could turn some people off. But honestly, this is the best One Piece game we’ve ever gotten! With One Piece being so popular right now, I’m really hoping other developers will try their hand at making even more amazing games in the future.
