After a six-year wait, MAPPA’s unique anime series Dorohedoro is returning for a second season. However, the number of episodes might not fully satisfy eager fans. This April brings a wave of new anime, along with the return of several popular franchises, some of which have been in development for years. For Dorohedoro fans, the six-year wait for more episodes is finally over.
I was excited to see MAPPA bring back Dorohedoro for its second season, especially after the initial episodes dropped this week. It felt like a big return after such a long wait! However, I checked the series’ website and noticed something a little disappointing: the new season will only have 11 episodes, split across two Blu-ray releases in Japan. That means we won’t get as many episodes this time around compared to the first season.
Dorohedoro Season 2 Confirms Disappointing Episode Count

Season 2 of Dorohedoro will have 11 episodes, which is shorter than the first season. However, the release schedule is different this time. Unlike Season 1, which Netflix released all at once in Summer 2020 during the pandemic, Season 2 will release episodes weekly throughout the Spring 2026 anime season. This means, despite having fewer episodes, it might feel like it takes longer to watch the complete season.
Fans will have more options for watching the second season of Dorohedoro. While the first season was only available on Netflix, Season 2 is being released on both Netflix and Crunchyroll simultaneously with its Japanese release. Plus, Crunchyroll is now offering the first season, giving viewers another way to get caught up before the new episodes arrive.
What to Know for Dorohedoro Season 2

Season 2 of Dorohedoro brings back the same talented team from Season 1. Yuichiro Hayashi returns as director at studio MAPPA, with Hiroshi Seko writing the scripts and Tomohiro Kishi handling character design. The music is once again composed by [K]NoW_Name and Fairy_gone, and [K]NoW_Name is also responsible for both the new opening theme, “Zettai Must Danmen,” and the ending theme, “Return To Head.” The original voice actors from Season 1 are also reprising their roles.
Season 2 of Dorohedoro brings back the original voice cast, including Wataru Takagi as Caiman, Reina Kondou as Nikaido, Kenyu Horiuchi as En, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shin, Yu Kobayashi as Noi, Miyu Tomiya as Ebisu, and Kengo Takahashi as Fujita. The season also introduces new voice actors: Koki Uchiyama as Dokuga, Daiki Hamano as Tetsujo, Yuichi Koshimura as Saji, Katsuhito Nomura as Ton, Atsushi Imaruoka as Ushishimada, and Sara Matsumoto as Natsuki, all of whom have appeared in the first three episodes.
