Released in 2025, KPop Demon Hunters quickly became a huge hit on Netflix. The animated film not only broke viewership records but also launched a new franchise. It told the story of magical-girl warriors fighting evil, while also dealing with their own personal challenges, all set to a vibrant musical backdrop. Everything about KPop Demon Hunters, from the initial idea to the final product, seemed to guarantee its success.
Okay, so I absolutely loved KPop Demon Hunters, but honestly, it felt way too short! So many fans, myself included, were left wanting more, and I really think it would have thrived as a full anime series. But don’t worry, if you’re feeling that KPop Demon Huntersshaped hole in your life, there are plenty of other amazing shows out there! I’ve been on a mission to find anime that deliver that same exciting demon-hunting action – and some that even exceed* it – and I’ve finally picked out seven perfect series that have that same intensity, but each bring something totally unique to the table.
7) Wonder Egg Priority

Wonder Egg Priority is a groundbreaking anime that heavily influenced the magical-girl, demon-hunting genre, notably inspiring series like KPop Demon Hunters. It’s praised for its stunning animation, but what really makes it special is the emotional depth of the battles. The story centers on Ai Ohto, a young woman grappling with depression and the recent loss of a friend to suicide.
Ai, who rarely leaves her home, gets a unique opportunity: to enter a dreamlike world and fight monsters that represent feelings of sadness and hopelessness. Her motivation is the hope of reuniting with a friend, and this personal journey makes Wonder Egg Priority a powerfully emotional and relatable series. If you were moved by KPop Demon Hunters, this show will likely resonate with you just as strongly.
6) Tokyo Mew Mew

Both Tokyo Mew Mew and KPop Demon Hunters feature characters who lead double lives as regular students and magical fighters. What’s special about Tokyo Mew Mew is that the heroines gain their powers by merging with animal DNA, leading to exciting and visually striking transformations. This gives the series a fun, high-energy feel that’s similar to the style of KPop Demon Hunters.
Although both Tokyo Mew Mew and KPop Demon Hunters feature demon-hunting action, the core of Tokyo Mew Mew focuses on what the heroes have to lose. The characters’ efforts to juggle everyday school life with their duties as heroes make the action more impactful, and it’s this focus on meaningful character growth that really sets it apart – a quality also found in KPop Demon Hunters.
5) Puella Magi Madoka Magica

It’s hard to think of an anime more alike to KPop Demon Hunters than Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The story starts with Madoka being given the opportunity to fight witches and have a wish come true, but it soon becomes about a team of girls working together to save the universe from a huge danger.
What sets Madoka Magica apart is that its action sequences aren’t just visually impressive—they’re also emotionally and mentally challenging. The series explores the psychological impact of these battles, giving it a distinctive feel. As a hugely important anime in the magical girl genre, it’s clear that KPop Demon Hunters takes inspiration from this 2011 classic.
4) Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt

If you enjoyed the lighthearted fun of KPop Demon Hunters, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt might not be for you. This anime is definitely geared towards adults and offers a very different take on the magical girl genre. The story follows two sisters, banished from Heaven, who hunt ghosts and demons in the strange world between Heaven and Hell, and they’re known for their colorful language and chaotic antics.
These sisters are on a mission to get back to Heaven by collecting special coins. However, they keep getting distracted by their love of both men and sweets! Despite these setbacks, their demon-hunting adventures are exciting and unique – they even turn their lingerie into weapons, which definitely sets them apart.
3) Dororo

While Dororo and KPop Demon Hunters are quite different, fans who enjoyed the demon-hunting action in KPop Demon Hunters will likely love Dororo even more. Dororo follows Hyakkimaru’s quest across feudal Japan as he battles demons to regain the senses he lost.
Hyakkimaru’s father made a terrible deal: he gave demons his son’s body parts and senses in return for wealth and safety for their family and village. Now, Hyakkimaru travels with a young boy named Dororo, fighting demons while trying to understand what it truly means to be human. The emotional weight of each fight is as captivating, or even more so, than what you’d find in a show like KPop Demon Hunters.
2) Jujutsu Kaisen

If you follow pop culture or anime, you’ve probably heard of Jujutsu Kaisen. While it’s quite different from KPop Demon Hunters, it’s a great choice if you want exciting, visually stunning action featuring characters battling demons.
I’ve been really struck by how Jujutsu Kaisen handles cursed energy becoming Curse spirits – it reminded me a bit of how demons are created through curses in KPop Demon Hunters. However, Jujutsu Kaisen adds a lot more depth to the idea, and honestly, the action sequences are just as exciting, if not even better. If you haven’t given this series a chance yet, now feels like the perfect time to start.
1) Demon Slayer

You’ve probably heard of Demon Slayer, especially since it was nominated for a Golden Globe alongside KPop Demon Hunters, which ended up winning. If you’re curious why the newest Demon Slayer movie received so much praise, the anime series itself offers a clear reason: its incredibly dynamic and visually striking action sequences.
Demon Slayer is about a group fighting to destroy demons that attack people. The story follows a young man seeking revenge for his family’s murder and trying to save his sister, who is turning into a demon. It’s packed with exciting and beautiful action scenes that are even more impressive than those in KPop Demon Hunters, making it a must-watch.
