Being on any of The CW’s superhero shows – known collectively as the Arrowverse – is generally considered a career highlight for actors. You can often find them at comic book conventions, eager to share stories about their time on those shows. However, not every actor wants to be remembered *just* for playing a superhero. Brandon Routh, for instance, has continued to build a successful career, earning praise for his work on shows like *The Rookie*.
While many actors might want their roles in the Arrowverse to be a small part of a much bigger career, that hasn’t happened for most. However, a few have gone on to achieve significant fame. Here are seven actors who were in the Arrowverse before becoming well-known.
7) Joey King

In his series, The Flash frequently encounters individuals with superpowers, including Frankie Kane, who goes by the name Magenta and is portrayed by Joey King. Magenta’s ability to manipulate metal presents a unique challenge for the Flash, though her time on the show is brief. Even with a small role in the Arrowverse, Joey King has quickly become a prominent actress, appearing in popular films like *Bullet Train* and *Despicable Me 4*.
6) Dichen Lachman

On Earth-38, humans aren’t very kind to alien visitors. In the show *Supergirl*, Veronica Sinclair, also known as Roulette, operates an illegal alien fighting league and is involved in human trafficking. Luckily, the actress who plays the villain, Dichen Lachman, stars as a much nicer character in the Apple TV+ series *Severance*.
5) Cynthia Addai-Robinson

In the first few seasons of *Arrow*, Oliver Queen frequently clashed with the organization A.R.G.U.S., and those encounters were rarely positive, largely due to its director, Amanda Waller. Actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson brilliantly portrayed the complex character of Waller before her departure from the series. More recently, Addai-Robinson has gained recognition for her roles as Tar-Míriel in *The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power* and Agent Marybeth Medina in *The Accountant 2*.
4) Josh Segarra

Green Arrow has faced many villains, but Adrian Chase, known as Prometheus, is his most frustrating foe. Actor Josh Segarra brilliantly played the unhinged villain, relentlessly challenging Green Arrow throughout a whole season of the show. Though his character is now gone, Segarra is still enjoying success, appearing in popular films like *Friendship* and *Scream VI*.
3) Robbie Amell

Early on, Team Flash benefited from the strength of Ronnie Raymond, also known as Firestorm. Actor Robbie Amell, who is related to Stephen Amell, played the character for several episodes before his heroic sacrifice at the end of Season 1, preventing the Singularity from destroying everything. Fortunately, Robbie Amell continues to be a familiar face on screen, starring in Prime Video’s *Upload* and appearing in a few episodes of *The Witcher*.
2) Shantel VanSanten

Barry Allen and Iris West experience a period of disconnect and briefly date other people, even though they still have feelings for each other. In Season 2, Barry dates Patty Spivot (played by Shantel VanSanten), but the relationship ends because he keeps his identity as The Flash a secret. Since leaving *The Flash*, VanSanten has become well-known for her roles in the Prime Video series *The Boys* and the Apple TV+ show *For All Mankind*.
1) Janina Gavankar

Similar to his friend Barry, Oliver dates several women before finally settling down with Felicity Smoak. In Season 1, Janina Gavankar plays Detective McKenna Hall, a capable police officer and Oliver’s girlfriend. However, after being shot, McKenna is forced to leave her job and relocate. Fortunately, Gavankar has continued to thrive in her career, appearing in multiple episodes of the popular Apple TV+ series *The Morning Show* and providing the voice for the beloved character Iden Versio in *Star Wars Battlefront II*.
The Arrowverse shows are streaming on Netflix.
