7 Best Anime If You Like Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

The first movie in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy achieved a major milestone, earning over 100 billion yen worldwide – a first for any Japanese film. It even outperformed the total box office revenue of all Marvel and DC movies released in 2025 and continues to climb the charts. Both audiences and critics have lauded the film, raising the bar for future anime releases – a standard that will be tough to beat. Filled with thrilling battles, heartbreaking stories, moving scenes, and stunning animation, the movie kept viewers captivated from beginning to end.

The movie first came out in Japan on July 18th, and then in the U.S. on September 12th. It’s still playing in theaters months later, which means it won’t be available to stream until 2026. Because of this, the studio hasn’t announced any news about the second movie in the series yet. While we wait for Part 2, here are seven excellent anime to enjoy.

7) Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho

Before it even premiered in March, people who love anime were already talking about how this new show reminded them of Demon Slayer. Although they have a similar feel, the stories are actually quite different. This one centers around Jinta, a protector of a shrine who is responsible for defeating any supernatural creatures he encounters.

The story follows his quest to find Suzune, a childhood friend who was turned into a demon by a prophecy. As he journeys through different periods of Japan, he helps those in need while secretly hoping to reunite with her.

6) Sirius the Jaeger

I’m completely hooked on these characters! Both of them have suffered the worst loss – their whole families wiped out by terrifying monsters. They both set out on a mission to destroy those creatures, but what really grabs me is their different motivations. Tanjiro’s focused entirely on finding a way to cure his sister, Nezuko, and make her human again. But Yuliy, who’s actually a werewolf named Sirius, isn’t just fighting monsters, he’s driven by a burning need for revenge for everything he’s lost.

In the 1930s, vampires are still a danger to humanity. When they start searching for a powerful artifact, a group of vampire hunters known as the Jaegers takes notice. The Jaegers follow the vampires to Japan, determined to stop them. But as Yuliy pursues the vampires, he begins to learn shocking secrets about his own history and the real meaning of the relic they seek.

5) Hell’s Paradise

Both anime offer dark, fantastical stories filled with exciting action and beautiful animation. They also feature main characters deeply devoted to those they care about. Hell’s Paradise centers on Gabimaru, a famously skilled and deadly assassin from Iwagakure village. Facing execution, he’s offered a chance at freedom, and despite his initial despair, he’s motivated to fight for his wife, Yui, who eagerly awaits his return.

Gabimaru faces an incredibly difficult mission: finding the legendary Elixir of Life. Not only is it a mythical substance, but it’s said to be hidden on a dangerous island where everyone who goes perishes. He’s not alone in this quest, though – other prisoners have been given a chance at redemption by searching for the elixir as well.

4) Ghost Hunt

I’m a big fan of supernatural stories, and while Ghost Hunt and Demon Slayer are pretty different in terms of plot and overall feel, Demon Slayer really stood out to me! It’s not a super dark and depressing horror series, which is a nice change of pace, but it still manages to be genuinely suspenseful. The story follows Mai Taniyama, a sixteen-year-old who starts working with a psychic research group in Shibuya, and each episode tackles a new spooky case – everything from classic ghosts to people with incredible psychic abilities. It’s a really fun ride!

Seventeen-year-old Kazuya Shibuya runs Shibuya Psychic Research, a ghost-hunting agency, and leads a quirky team. This team includes a monk, a Catholic priest, a Shinto priestess, and a well-known spiritual medium. As Mai joins them, she discovers that ghosts and psychic abilities aren’t just the stuff of fiction – they’re real.

3) Inu-Oh

This often-overlooked anime movie is directed by the acclaimed Masaaki Yuasa of Science SARU and features a truly distinctive animation style. The story takes place 300 years after the defeat of the Heike Clan, a significant event documented in the classic Japanese tale, The Tale of the Heike. The beautiful film follows Inu-Oh, a gifted dancer born with a disfigurement and believed to be cursed, and Tomona, a blind musician who plays the biwa.

They were both outcasts, rejected because they didn’t fit in, and this shared experience quickly brought them together. Over time, they gained recognition for their artistic performances, which revealed the hidden history of the Heike Clan.

2) Mushishi

While shows like Demon Slayer are known for their exciting action and colorful animation, Mushishi offers a more peaceful and thoughtful experience. It follows Ginko as he journeys through a world inhabited by ‘Mushi’ – simple, fundamental life forms that exist without intention or morality. These Mushi aren’t like the demons in Demon Slayer, who deliberately target humans. Instead, they sometimes unintentionally cause problems simply by existing.

Unfortunately, very little is known about these mysterious creatures, so Ginko travels throughout the country investigating reported sightings. He assists those troubled by Mushi and, in doing so, learns more about their nature and behavior.

1) Dororo

Both anime series are dark fantasy stories set in historical Japan, centering around heroes battling demons to reclaim what they’ve lost. One series is based on Osamu Tezuka’s 1967 manga and follows Hyakkimaru, a character whose father made a deal with demons even before his birth. Driven by greed and a desire to secure his land’s success, the samurai lord Daigo Kagemitsu bargained with twelve demons, resulting in his son being born without vital body parts – limbs, a nose, eyes, ears, and skin – yet somehow still alive.

Abandoned as a baby, Hyakkimaru was rescued and raised by a skilled craftsman who makes prosthetics and weapons. Now grown, Hyakkimaru travels the land to destroy the demons who stole his body parts. Along the way, he meets Dororo, a young orphan who joins him after being left to survive on his own following the loss of his parents.
