It’s not an April Fool’s joke – it really is April 1st! A new month means fresh TV shows and movies are arriving on streaming services. With so much new content added, and most of it only available for a limited time, it can be tough to decide what to watch. There’s just a lot of great stuff to choose from!
I’m always looking for something new to watch, and Peacock has added a lot this month! I’ve put together a list of seven movies and shows that I think are definitely worth checking out. There’s a big variety of new stuff on the streamer, but these are the ones that really caught my eye.
7) Marvel’s Blade Trilogy (April 1st)

Starting April 1st, all three original Blade movies are coming to Peacock! Starring Wesley Snipes as the half-vampire hero known as the “daywalker,” the trilogy includes Blade (1998), Blade II (2002), and Blade: Trinity (2004).
These three movies are based on comic books, but they’re also genuinely scary, successfully combining superhero themes with classic horror elements. Though the first film is often considered the strongest, all three are enjoyable even if you don’t typically follow comic books.
6) Interstellar (April 1st)

Enjoyed Project Hail Mary and want another amazing space adventure? Peacock has Interstellar this month. Christopher Nolan’s 2014 film is a stunning and hopeful masterpiece. While it’s not as funny as Project Hail Mary, it’s sure to fill you with a sense of wonder.
The movie centers on Joseph Cooper (played by Matthew McConaughey), a former NASA pilot, who is recruited for a vital mission: to fly a spacecraft through a wormhole and find a new planet for humanity to live on. Earth is becoming uninhabitable due to severe climate change, so this mission is crucial for the survival of our species. The film also features Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine, and is visually stunning.
5) The Miniature Wife (April 9th)

Need a new show to watch? All ten episodes of Peacock’s original series, The Miniature Wife, will be available to stream starting April 9th.
A brilliant scientist, about to make an incredible discovery, accidentally shrinks his wife to just six inches tall, and their relationship issues become even more complicated.
4) The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (April 1st)

If you enjoyed Project Hail Mary and found Interstellar a bit too heavy, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy could be a great sci-fi option. This film, based on Douglas Adams’ books, boasts an impressive cast including Martin Freeman, Sam Rockwell, Mos Def, Zooey Deschanel, Bill Nighy, Anna Chancellor, John Malkovich, and voice talents like Stephen Fry, Helen Mirren, Richard Griffiths, Thomas Lennon, Ian McNeice, and Alan Rickman.
The film centers around Arthur Dent, who finds out on an ordinary Thursday that his house is about to be destroyed for a new highway. While trying to save his home, his friend Ford Prefect reveals he’s an alien researcher and that Earth itself is scheduled to be demolished that day to make way for a hyperspace route. Luckily, Ford rescues Arthur by sneaking them onto an alien spaceship. The movie is a humorous, large-scale adventure.
3) Pulp Fiction (April 1st)

Quentin Tarantino’s most famous movie, Pulp Fiction, will be available on Peacock in April, making it a perfect pick for a rewatch – or your first viewing!
Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction is a darkly humorous crime film known for its unique, non-chronological storytelling. Set in Los Angeles, the movie weaves together four separate but connected stories of crime and violence. It features a fantastic cast including John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, Tim Roth, and Ving Rhames. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a must-watch!
2) Dead Poets Society (April 1st)

Released in 1989, Dead Poets Society is a heartwarming story about a group of students inspired by their unconventional English teacher, John Keating, played by Robin Williams. Set at the prestigious Welton Academy, the film follows the students’ journey of self-discovery. The cast also includes Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, and Josh Charles, among others.
The film received rave reviews and earned several Academy Award nominations, including for Best Picture, Best Actor (for Williams), and Best Original Screenplay, which it ultimately won.
1) Face/Off (April 1st)

Honestly, Face/Off is a standout film from the 1990s, despite having a pretty unbelievable plot. It stars John Travolta as an FBI agent and Nicolas Cage as a terrorist. They undergo an experimental surgery that swaps their faces, leading to a wild switch in identities. It doesn’t really need to make logical sense – it’s just a fantastic movie.
As a huge movie fan, I have to say Face/Off is a total standout and absolutely essential viewing this month. What really makes it special is the acting – both Travolta and Cage aren’t just playing characters, they’re brilliantly embodying each other playing those characters. It’s a surprisingly layered performance, and they both bring so much skill and subtlety to their roles that you can’t help but get completely drawn in. Honestly, if you only have time for one movie on this list in April, make it this one.
