Paramount+ has become a popular choice for original TV series, and 2025 brought a lot of great new shows to the streaming service. This is no surprise, given Paramount+’s connection to CBS, which has a long track record of successful scripted dramas like NCIS, FBI, Fire Country, CSI, Criminal Minds, and Blue Bloods. A key part of their strategy was a deal with Taylor Sheridan, bringing hits like Yellowstone to the platform, and in 2025, Paramount+ kept delivering fantastic original content.
Here’s a ranked list of the best shows on Paramount+ in 2025, including both popular spin-offs and brand-new, highly-rated series.
7) NCIS: Tony & Ziva

For years, fans of the show NCIS were disappointed that Tony and Ziva didn’t get a proper ending to their love story. That changed in 2025 when Paramount+ released the series NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The original storyline had Tony saying goodbye to Ziva, only to later learn she had passed away and had a daughter with him.
Ziva surprised everyone by revealing she hadn’t actually died and had secretly returned to NCIS, though she did so without Tony. They were reunited when their daughter was kidnapped, launching them on a rescue mission in the U.K. The show, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, brought back the witty back-and-forth fans adored, and though it was cancelled after one season, it concluded with Tony and Ziva happily preparing for their future as a family with their daughter – a truly satisfying ending.
6) 1923, Season 2

1923, a series created by Taylor Sheridan as part of the Yellowstone universe, featured a fantastic cast including Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton. The show, available on Paramount+, is a prequel to 1883, with Ford’s character being the brother of Tim McGraw’s character from that earlier series. The show followed the Dutton family’s struggle to hold onto their land against those trying to develop it, and although it didn’t receive much Emmy recognition, it won awards for its stunning visuals and costumes. Critics loved its realistic and dramatic storytelling, giving it a perfect 100
5) Mobland

In 2025, Mobland stood out as the best original series to premiere on Paramount+ – meaning it wasn’t based on existing material. This British crime drama boasts a well-known cast, featuring Tom Hardy, Paddy Considine, and Pierce Brosnan. Hardy plays Harry De Souza, a problem-solver for the Harrigan crime family, headed by Brosnan’s character, Conrad. Notably, Guy Ritchie directed the first two episodes of the 10-episode series. While receiving a 75
4) Yellowjackets, Season 3

Originally a Showtime show, the third season of Yellowjackets became available on both Paramount+ and Showtime after the two services combined. The season had a complex task: to conclude a story told across two timelines. One timeline followed a high school girls’ soccer team who crashed in the wilderness and struggled to survive for over a year and a half, ultimately descending into a brutal, primal existence reminiscent of Lord of the Flies.
As a huge fan, I was completely hooked by the second phase of Yellowjackets. It jumps forward 25 years and focuses on the survivors as adults, really digging into the long-term effects of their trauma and all the secrets they kept buried. Season three had ten episodes and, thankfully, it was a hit! That means we’re getting a fourth and final season, which is amazing. With an 84
3) Dexter: Resurrection

Even after the original series concluded, Dexter continues to be a fan favorite. The show initially ended with Dexter disappearing and starting a new life. In 2021, Dexter: New Blood featured a storyline where Dexter’s son appeared to kill him. Then, in 2024, Dexter: Original Sin arrived as a prequel, revealing Dexter’s early experiences as a killer. The positive response to that series led to Dexter: Resurrection, which revealed Dexter actually survived the shooting in New Blood.
As a long-time Dexter fan, I was really glad to see the show back and tying up loose ends. Having Angel Batista return was a huge highlight – David Zayas is fantastic, and it felt right to have him pushing for answers about Dexter. Seeing Dexter’s son, Harrison, back in the mix, and, honestly, seeing Dexter fall back into his old patterns, was compelling. It felt like the show rediscovered what made it great, and the fact that it’s been renewed for another season has me genuinely excited to see where they take Dexter Morgan’s story next.
2) Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 3

When Star Trek: Strange New Worlds debuted on Paramount+ in 2022, it quickly became a hit. The show goes back in time, featuring Anson Mount as Christopher Pike, the captain of the Starship Enterprise before James Kirk. Many fans consider it one of the best Star Trek series in a long time, thanks to a fantastic cast including Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Martin Quinn as Scotty.
Season three consisted of 10 episodes and maintained the show’s high quality. While critics at Rotten Tomatoes (giving it a 90
1) Landman, Season 2

Taylor Sheridan is known for popular shows on Paramount+ like Yellowstone and its related series, but many consider Landman to be his best work. The show debuted in 2024, starring Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a landman tasked with fixing issues at his company. The first season concluded in January 2025, and the second season began in November 2025, effectively splitting the show into two parts across the year.
This show is truly excellent and highly recommended for fans of TV dramas. It boasts a phenomenal cast including Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Demi Moore, Joe Namm, Andy Garcia, and Sam Elliott. Thornton received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the first season, and the second season is equally deserving of awards.
