After being betrayed by Ragnar, she continues to be a character we can’t help but support. Sharing similar ambitions for power and violence as Ragnar, Lagertha eventually yearns for a peaceful life away from politics and warfare. Despite suffering heavy personal tragedies, Lagertha consistently stands out as an embodiment of fortitude. However, the series takes a tragic and disheartening turn in Season 6 when Hvitserk, delirious, ends Lagertha’s life prematurely. Yet, her funeral scene remains one of the most profound and impactful moments in the show.
