7) Clayface Will Reveal The DCU’s Batman
We don’t know much about Batman in the new DC Universe yet, but that should change by 2026. The upcoming Clayface movie, scheduled for release in September 2026, will likely give fans their first glimpse of this new version of the Dark Knight. It’s unlikely we’ll see him in any other projects before then, and because Clayface is one of Batman’s enemies, it’s possible Batman might even make a small appearance in the film.
6) The Brave & The Bold Will Be 2026’s Next Big DCU Release
With no firm release date announced for Batman: The Brave and the Bold, it’s currently expected to come out no earlier than 2027. However, we believe an official announcement about the film will be made in 2026. Given Batman’s huge global popularity and importance to the DC Universe, it’s likely to be the next DC movie to receive a confirmed release date.
5) Xolo Maridueña Will Return (& Sooner Than Expected)
While Blue Beetle was initially expected to make a brief appearance in season two of Peacemaker, that didn’t happen. However, we think he might show up in the DC Universe sooner rather than later. James Gunn has hinted that Xolo Maridueña will reprise his role as Blue Beetle in the new DC franchise. With a Booster Gold series currently being developed, Blue Beetle could return as early as 2026, potentially teaming up with his superhero friend Booster Gold.
4) Supergirl Will Play A Crucial Role In Shaping The DCU
The next DC movie coming out is Supergirl, and it will follow up on her brief appearance in Superman. As a key new character, Supergirl will likely be central to expanding the DC Universe. The film will introduce several new locations and characters, potentially setting the stage for the franchise’s direction in 2026.

Although the movie probably won’t be released until 2027 or beyond, 2026 could be when Robert Pattinson’s Batman officially joins the DCU.
