7 DC Heroes That Would Be Better in Marvel Comics

It’s easy to imagine some DC Comics heroes fitting right into the Marvel Universe, isn’t it? While many fans see the two universes as similar, there are actually some key differences. Marvel feels more grounded, focusing on ordinary people encountering extraordinary things, while DC is more about grand myths and legends. You might think these differences would make it hard for heroes to switch universes, but some would likely adapt surprisingly well.

I believe several DC heroes would be incredibly successful if they joined the Marvel Universe – they wouldn’t just survive, they’d really flourish. In a world focused on advanced science, characters like Plastic Man and Mister Terrific would fit right in. Blue Beetle’s upbeat personality would also make him a natural hero of the people, similar to Spider-Man. Of course, everyone has their own opinions, but I think these 7 DC heroes would particularly shine in the Marvel Universe.

7. Plastic Man

The Marvel Universe already features a hero who can stretch and reshape his body – Mister Fantastic – but there’s always potential for another one! While Plastic Man might seem like a bit of a goof, he’s surprisingly good-hearted. Plus, his time with the Terrifics has given him experience exploring the strangest parts of the universe. He’d be a great addition to one of the Avengers teams, and it would be fun to finally settle the debate: who’s the better stretchy hero? (I’m definitely Team Plastic Man!).

6. Martian Manhunter

I’m not bringing this up just because Marvel and DC once jokingly discussed trading characters – they actually considered swapping Martian Manhunter for She-Hulk! But I genuinely believe J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter, would feel more accepted in the Marvel Universe. He’s always struggled feeling like an outsider, constantly hiding his true self. In Marvel, he could be himself without causing a stir. Plus, I think he’d admire the work mutants are doing to restore life on Mars, although he might not ever fully embrace the new name, Arakko.

5. Shazam

I keep wondering how Shazam would fit into the Marvel Universe, especially after that team-up with Thor. Marvel already has characters like Thor and Hercules who walk the line between human and god, and it would be awesome to see Shazam interacting with them. He’d be a great addition to any team, but I’m curious if he’d be a better fit with the younger Champions or the more established Avengers.

4. Firestorm

It’s disappointing that Firestorm hasn’t been featured much in DC Comics recently, even though a new comic is on the way. Marvel, on the other hand, has a huge roster of heroes created by scientific accidents, like the Hulk and Captain America. Firestorm, in any of his iterations, would fit right into that universe. His power to alter the molecular structure of objects would make him a great addition to teams like the Avengers or, particularly, the Fantastic Four – I can easily imagine him having a good rapport with the Human Torch.

3. Blue Beetle

Despite his potential, Jaima Reyes, the current Blue Beetle, hasn’t quite found his footing with DC fans. Interestingly, heroes with insect-based powers often succeed in the Marvel Universe, and Jaime could really flourish there. He might even team up with Spider-Man – they’d likely be a great match! While he’d never abandon his family, Jaime has the skills to thrive on his own in the Marvel Universe.

2. Zatanna

The DC Universe is known for its magic, but Marvel has a rich mystical side as well. Zatanna, DC’s most powerful magic user, would be a fantastic addition to that world. She’d be a formidable opponent to heroes like Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange, and could even challenge for the title of Sorcerer Supreme. Though she’s used to performing on stage, Zatanna has the potential to achieve great things in the Marvel Universe.

1. Mister Terrific

Everyone agrees that Mister Terrific is the most intelligent person in the DC Universe. Imagine how amazing it would be to send him to the Marvel Universe! He could finally put his intelligence to the test against brilliant minds like Reed Richards and T’Challa, and he’d definitely be up for the challenge. Honestly, Mister Terrific would thrive in Marvel’s world of super-science; he’d feel more at home there than any other DC hero.
