The Arrowverse shows clear favoritism towards certain characters. While it’s understandable that Oliver Queen, as the central figure, received the most focus, the show continues to revolve around him even after his character’s death. This is evident in how The Flash’s storylines are often interrupted to mourn Oliver or bring him back for additional appearances. It raises questions about whether other heroes will ever truly get their due, considering The Flash struggles to prioritize his own adventures.
Over its many seasons, the Arrowverse featured a large number of superheroes. While some, like Green Arrow and The Flash, were central figures, many others made memorable appearances. However, a few heroes didn’t get much screen time and may have slipped your mind. Here are seven DC heroes you might have forgotten were part of the Arrowverse.
7) Ryan Choi
During the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” storyline, the heroes of the Arrowverse needed to find seven special individuals called Paragons to combat the Anti-Monitor. Most of these Paragons were well-known heroes like Batwoman, Superman (played by Brandon Routh), and The Flash. One new hero, Ryan Choi, appeared – he’s known as the Atom in the comics. While Ryan’s intelligence was key to saving the multiverse, his role in the Arrowverse was limited, and he only became a hero in a different version of reality.
6) Wildcat
While Green Arrow is well-known as Star City’s protector, he wasn’t the first vigilante. That was Ted Grant, also known as Wildcat, who patrolled the Glades before retiring to open a gym. Though often overlooked in the Arrowverse shows, Wildcat could reappear in James Gunn’s new DC Universe – he’s briefly seen in a mural in the movie *Superman*.
5) Accelerated Man
The multiverse is filled with fast and dangerous villains like Reverse-Flash, Zoom, and Savitar. Luckily, there’s also Accelerated Man, a speedster who wants to use his powers for good. He teams up with Gypsy to capture those jumping between universes, and his striking appearance often does the trick. The comics actually give him a bit more of a role, showing him attending a gathering of Flashes from different universes when The Flash messes things up on Earth-Prime.
4) Hawkman
Hawkgirl is now appearing in the DC Universe, fighting with the Justice League in *Superman*. Interestingly, her frequent partner, Hawkman, isn’t around, unlike in the Arrowverse where they were often together. They spent Season 1 of *Legends of Tomorrow* escaping Vandal Savage, but after that, the rest of the Waverider crew continued their adventures without them.
3) The Ray
I’ve always been fascinated by The Ray, even though he’s often been a supporting character in bigger DC stories. But honestly, I think his time in the Arrowverse really let him shine! He was so important during the ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ event, and it was amazing to see him connect with that world’s Captain Cold. Even during the massive ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths,’ he was still out there, bravely fighting for what’s right on Earth-X. It’s great to see a character like that consistently show up and contribute, even if he doesn’t always get the spotlight.
2) Miss Martian
The Arrowverse’s portrayal of Martian Manhunter is memorable, largely because he’s an important part of Supergirl’s team. However, he wasn’t the only Martian on the show – M’gann M’orzz also appeared and developed feelings for a D.E.O. officer. Unfortunately, their romance didn’t last, and Miss Martian’s story ultimately became a minor part of *Supergirl* after she chose to leave Earth.
1) Batman
In the Arrowverse, Green Arrow steps up as the hero Star City needs, similar to Batman, and assembles a team to fight crime. While the original Batman, Bruce Wayne, still exists on his own Earth and has left Gotham after a final confrontation with the Joker, a version of him appears thanks to Tommy Elliot taking on his appearance. This glimpse of the Arrowverse’s Batman is enough to earn a place on this list.
The Arrowverse shows are streaming on Netflix.
Wow, thinking about all the Arrowverse heroes is bringing back so many memories! I’m curious to know if anyone else remembers them as well. Let’s chat about it – head over to the ComicBook Forum and share your thoughts with me and everyone else!
