In simpler terms, The Hulk is a formidable force in the Marvel Universe, known for his immense strength. Originally, Dr. Bruce Banner, who invented the gamma bomb, saved a teenager named Rick Jones during its testing but was himself exposed to the blast. This event, orchestrated by an entity called The One Below All, transformed Bruce into the Hulk. Ever since, the Hulk has been relentlessly charging through anyone in his path, from superheroes and supervillains, to gods, monsters, and everything in between. Known as ‘The Strongest There Is’, the Hulk’s unparalleled strength, invincibility, and rapid healing make it challenging for opponents to defeat him. While the Hulk can be defeated, it is almost impossible for most of his adversaries to do so.
The Marvel and DC Comics universes are merging once more, a scenario that The Hulk has been familiar with in the past. Previously, The Hulk squared off against Batman during this cross-universe event, but as of now, he hasn’t been included in any upcoming crossovers. Allowing The Hulk access to the DC Multiverse opens up a multitude of fresh adversaries for him to confront, and it could be an exhilarating prospect, although perhaps not so much for the antagonists of DC Comics. While there are some DC villains capable of overcoming him, these seven specific DC villains would stand no chance against The Hulk’s formidable strength.
7) Deathstroke
Deathstroke is one of the toughest villains in comic books. Originally a skilled soldier, Slade Wilson was selected for a super soldier program, giving him increased strength, speed, and intelligence. Deathstroke often outsmarts his opponents due to his cunning planning skills, much like Batman. However, even though Deathstroke is impressive, he can’t hold a candle to the Hulk in a direct confrontation. The Hulk’s immense power makes him too strong for Deathstroke, not even an advanced suit like the Ikon could help Deathstroke win against Superman. Deathstroke may be powerful for his size, but the Hulk is in a league of his own when it comes to strength. Despite Deathstroke’s abilities, the Hulk is far too powerful to be defeated easily.
6) Vandal Savage
As a cinephile, I must say that amongst the formidable rogues gallery of the Justice League, Vandal Savage stands out as one of the most lethal adversaries. This enigmatic villain traces his origins back to our prehistoric past, when a Neanderthal hunter stumbled upon a meteorite during a hunt. The meteorite’s radiation endowed him with extraordinary physical attributes such as superhuman strength, speed, durability, and an unparalleled healing factor that granted him immortality.
Furthermore, the cosmic energy bestowed upon him a brilliant mind, allowing Savage to embark on a reign of terror spanning millennia across the globe. With a history of defeating more heroes than he can recall, Savage has accumulated power and wealth that echoes an era far older than modern civilization itself.
However, Vandal Savage’s intellect is not his only weapon. While he may have given many League members a run for their money, there’s one obstacle he won’t be able to overcome: the Hulk. Despite being intelligent, Savage tends to rely more on tactics rather than technology, which makes him no match for the unpredictable fury of the Green Goliath. Unlike Deathstroke, who might eventually devise a strategy to outmaneuver the Hulk, Vandal Savage is not that kind of combatant. His ego would likely prompt him into a physical confrontation against the Hulk, thinking his intellect could guide him through the battle. Unfortunately for Savage, he’d be swiftly defeated by the Hulk’s sheer brute force.
5) Bane
One of Batman’s most formidable foes is Bane, who has dealt some of the Dark Knight’s most crushing defeats. Known for his intelligence and tactical prowess, Bane often emerges victorious against his adversaries. Having survived in one of Earth’s deadliest prisons from a young age, he also excels in combat. He relies on Venom, a powerful steroid that enhances his strength. However, when it comes to the Hulk, a match is almost unfair. Bane might outsmart opponents, but against the Hulk, his tactics wouldn’t stand a chance. Although Bane could potentially unite all of Gotham City’s villains as he did in Batman (Vol. 3) #1-85, the Hulk’s immense power is nearly unmatched. Even with Venom, Bane stands no chance against the Hulk at his basic level. The Hulk wouldn’t even need to get enraged to defeat Bane instantly.
4) Metallo
Metallo is a formidable foe often facing off against Superman for many years, characterized by his cyborg body that grants him superhuman strength and invincibility, as well as the ability to transform his limbs into various weapons and reliance on Kryptonite for power. His Kryptonite-fueled attacks have proven effective in weakening Superman, but the Man of Steel has rarely been defeated by Metallo. However, it’s worth noting that Metallo isn’t the brightest bulb on the shelf and is often exploited as a pawn against Superman. In comparison to the Hulk, Metallo exhibits great strength and durability but lacks the unique abilities necessary to defeat the green giant quickly. The Hulk’s incredible resilience means that Metallo’s Kryptonite-powered energy blasts won’t have any special effect on him, only serving as ordinary attacks. Although Metallo can pound away at the Hulk with his transforming limbs, he doesn’t possess the power to eliminate the Hulk swiftly. This enables the Hulk to continuously grow stronger, eventually reaching a level where all of Metallo’s strength becomes insignificant. While Metallo poses a challenge for the Hulk, it would not be enough to secure victory in their potential encounter.
3) Kalibak
On Apokolips, Kalibak is Darkseid’s powerful son, renowned for his colossal strength and unyielding resilience. These attributes have led him to engage in fierce battles with Superman. However, while he lacks the destructive eye-beams of his father, Kalibak’s raw might and ferocity make him a formidable adversary that many prefer not to confront. Interestingly, despite being Darkseid’s offspring, Kalibak doesn’t hold the highest rank among his father’s elite followers. This can be attributed to his considerable lack of intelligence – outwitting Kalibak is akin to outsmarting a preschooler.
In a hypothetical showdown between Kalibak and the Hulk, it would essentially boil down to a brutal brawl. Initially, Kalibak might have an edge due to his combat skills, despite his low IQ. However, the Hulk’s steadily escalating power and invulnerability will keep him in the fight until he surpasses Kalibak’s strength. The battle would likely continue for some time afterward, as Kalibak is as tough as a well-aged steak, but ultimately, the Hulk would emerge victorious through brute force. Intriguingly, the Hulk may even outsmart Kalibak in the process, which truly encapsulates the nature of this contest.
2) Amazo
In essence, Amazo possesses the capacity to overpower the Hulk due to its ability to mimic the powers of various superheroes, including Superman’s strength, the Flash’s speed, Green Lantern’s constructs, and more. Even the Hulk’s capacity to grow stronger with rage could potentially be copied by Amazo. However, it is important to note that Amazo lacks intelligence compared to the Justice League. This lack of creativity in employing its powers often leads to defeat, despite being equal in power. The Hulk, on the other hand, will likely prevail due to his greater imagination and resourcefulness. In a confrontation, each punch thrown by the Hulk could potentially harm Amazo’s internal mechanisms. Amazo’s power and durability are likely to provoke the Hulk, leading to an escalation that would ultimately prove detrimental for Amazo. Thus, while the match promises to be thrilling, the Hulk is predicted to emerge victorious against Amazo.
1) Lex Luthor
On his world, Lex Luthor is undeniably the sharpest villain, and I’m inclined to believe there might be someone capable of outsmarting the Hulk with ample time. Yet, in a direct confrontation, Lex stands no chance. His anti-Superman armor provides resilience, but history shows that the Hulk has overpowered armored adversaries. Moreover, unlike many others, Lex does not wear a helmet, which is questionable when facing off against the Hulk since he lacks invincibility. To be honest, the Hulk could potentially end this skirmish instantly with a strong blow to Lex’s unprotected face. Following their encounter, Lex would likely devise a strategy to vanquish the Hulk for vengeance, which underscores his ultimate defeat in this battle.
