The Suicide Squad has always been a popular team in the DC universe. It’s known for bringing lesser-known villains into the spotlight and giving them a chance to become major characters. For example, Deadshot and Captain Boomerang have become fan favorites thanks to their time with the Squad. What’s great about the team is that it always has a revolving door of villains – Amanda Waller constantly recruits new members for dangerous missions, and when one member leaves, the team carries on without missing a beat.
The Suicide Squad’s lineup changes often, which means there’s plenty of opportunity for different DC villains to join the team. Whether they’re silly or genuinely frightening, many villains could be a good fit. Here are seven we think would make strong additions.
7) Onomatopoeia
Onomatopoeia, a ruthless serial killer, would be a perfect fit for the Suicide Squad. Though he doesn’t have any traditional superpowers, he’s incredibly effective at killing, and notably silent – his only ‘words’ are sound effects. This makes him a terrifying enemy, but also someone who’d thrive as part of the Squad.
Beyond his intelligence and shooting ability, his remarkable tolerance for pain would make him a valuable asset. He’s shown in the past that he doesn’t experience pain like most people, allowing him to keep fighting even after being seriously wounded. This makes him a scary opponent and a strong teammate, especially for a group like the Squad.
6) Mirror Master
The Mirror Master has had two different versions in the DC universe. While Sam Scudder joined a team of heroes, Evan McCulloch has not. McCulloch is a skilled fighter and thief, and he’s far more dangerous than Scudder. Originally a Scottish assassin who acquired Scudder’s technology, McCulloch improved upon his predecessor’s methods. His mastery of mirror-based weaponry would be valuable to Amanda Waller and make him a strong addition to the Suicide Squad. He’d also bring a lot of internal conflict to the team, as he’d likely prioritize stealing during missions, creating tension with Waller – and what’s the Suicide Squad without a little drama?
5) Kite-Man
Kite-Man started as a comical character, but has surprisingly become popular with Batman fans. With his kites and flying suit, he’s a classic, over-the-top villain who seems like a natural fit for the Suicide Squad. While he might not have a ton to *do* on the team, giving everyone kites could be surprisingly entertaining.
What makes this character interesting isn’t his actions, but his personality. Tom King created a surprisingly touching and relatable history for Kite-Man, which has made fans connect with him. This backstory positions Kite-Man as someone who could become a truly central and empathetic figure within a team.
4) Doctor Psycho
Doctor Psycho, whose real name is Edgar Cizko, is one of Wonder Woman’s oldest foes and a dangerous enemy to Diana. While he isn’t a physically imposing villain, he’s incredibly powerful mentally, possessing abilities like telepathy, telekinesis, and hypnotism. This makes him a valuable asset, and he could be a perfect fit for the Suicide Squad, as every team needs a clever strategist alongside the muscle.
He’s the team’s reliable mover, getting everyone where they need to go undetected and offering support when it’s needed. His major flaw is a strong dislike of women, and he’d probably try to challenge Waller’s authority. However, seeing those two clash would be fascinating.
3) Shado
Shado is a complex figure in the DC Universe – sometimes an ally to Green Arrow, other times a dangerous enemy. She’s an incredibly skilled archer and assassin, making her a valuable addition to the Suicide Squad. However, she’s also likely to be hard to manage. Amanda Waller might be willing to use Shado’s daughter, Emiko, as leverage to ensure her cooperation.
She’s incredibly talented and would be perfect as the team’s expert archer and leader, much like Deadshot or Rick Flag. She’s also a likely survivor – one of the team members most likely to make it through any dangerous mission.
2) Lock-Up
Lyle Bolton, better known as Lock-Up, is a somewhat forgotten character from the DC animated series. He used to be a guard at Arkham Asylum, but eventually became a criminal himself. Driven by a twisted need to imprison others, and known for his harsh methods, he’s a truly menacing villain. He’d be a great fit to oversee the Suicide Squad, acting as Amanda Waller’s enforcer. While he’d fit the role of ‘Waller’s loyal follower,’ he’d offer a fresh face in that position. Plus, his arrogance would likely get him into trouble with a Squad member, leading to a predictably dramatic outcome – after all, what’s the Squad without conflict?
1) False Face
False Face is back in the pages of *Two-Face* and offers a lot of potential for the Suicide Squad. Now that readers know he’s active again, it won’t be long before he plays a significant role in the comics. He’s perfect for the Squad’s tendency to feature lesser-known characters, and his mysterious nature should appeal to fans. False Face is a master of disguise, and Amanda Waller could easily provide him with the identities he needs to infiltrate locations and manipulate situations. Not every mission requires a fight, and his ability to create intrigue would be a valuable asset to the team.
