The Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of incredibly powerful characters, and 2025 has significantly changed the rankings. While the upcoming Thunderbolts movie will introduce Sentry, a character with almost unlimited power, his recent near-destruction of New York City has put him on thin ice. This creates an opportunity for other heroes to rise to the top. One strong contender is Bruce Banner, as seen in the animated series Marvel Zombies. In this version, he becomes the Infinity Hulk, absorbing immense energy and easily defeating entire armies. However, it’s unclear if this incredibly powerful version of the Hulk will appear again after the events of the show.
Look, as a huge MCU fan, I’ve noticed a pattern: Marvel loves to bring in these unbelievably powerful heroes, and then… just kinda leaves them on the bench. It’s frustrating! They introduce all this potential, and it feels wasted. I’m calling them out on it today. Here are seven seriously powerful superheroes Marvel really needs to use more.
7) Starfox

The movie Eternals features some incredibly ambitious moments, like a giant Celestial emerging from the Indian Ocean and almost destroying the planet. However, the biggest surprise comes when it’s revealed that Thanos has a brother named Eros, who intends to assist the Eternals in locating their lost companions. While there aren’t currently any plans for a sequel to continue that storyline, it seems odd to introduce a powerful character like Starfox and then not follow up on his introduction.
Like other Eternals, Eros possesses superhuman strength and resilience. However, he’s best known for his power to manipulate the emotions of others, essentially controlling how they feel. In the comics, Starfox often battles very formidable enemies, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe could explore similar storylines if the character returns.
6) Adam Warlock

At the beginning of their latest adventure, the Guardians of the Galaxy face a tough fight against Adam Warlock, a powerful being created by the Sovereign. Adam easily overpowers even the strong Drax the Destroyer, though he’s still learning how to manage his emotions. Luckily, the Guardians manage to recruit Adam to their team by the end of the movie, adding him to the crew alongside Rocket, Groot, Kraglin, and a few other allies.
Okay, so I was thinking about characters who deserve another shot in the MCU, and Adam Warlock came to mind. I know, I know, he just showed up, but he’s a huge deal in the comics when it comes to fighting Thanos. Since he didn’t get to really participate in that fight in the movies, it feels like he’s being saved for the next big bad guy. Honestly, I’m a little bummed he’s not listed in the cast for Avengers: Doomsday – he’d be a fantastic asset against Doctor Doom, and I really think he could make a difference.
5) G’iah

As a big Marvel fan, I didn’t feel like Secret Invasion really changed things in a huge way for the MCU, and honestly, that’s mostly held true. We haven’t seen much follow-up to what happened in the show, except for a little in The Marvels. But the frustrating thing is, Secret Invasion introduced a character who I think could have been a truly major player for the franchise – someone with a lot of potential.
G’iah, Talos’ daughter, goes undercover at Gravik’s base and uses a powerful substance called the Harvest – a mix of DNA from incredibly strong individuals – to enhance her own abilities. This gives her access to the strength of heroes like Captain Marvel and villains like Thanos, which is a huge deal. Despite building her up as a strong character, the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t appear to have plans to continue her storyline.
4) Clea

Marvel movies often tease new characters in quick scenes after the credits roll, but sometimes it takes a long time before those characters reappear. For example, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange meets Clea, a powerful woman who steps out of a portal and asks for his help. Clea seems like she could be just as important to the story as Doctor Strange himself.
I’m really excited about Clea! From what I understand, she has this incredible link to the Dark Dimension – you know, the one we saw in Doctor Strange? It sounds like she’s destined to become its ruler eventually. What’s even more amazing is that she’s a seriously powerful sorceress, capable of battling anyone, even Dormammu! I’m hoping the MCU version follows a similar path, but we might need to see her in another project to really confirm her role.
3) Hercules

Similar to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder uses its end-credits scene to introduce a well-known character from Marvel Comics: Hercules. Zeus, upset about his defeat by Thor, summons Hercules to get revenge. Although Hercules accepts the task, he hasn’t fought Thor yet, and there’s no confirmation of when their battle will happen.
Thor is coming back in Avengers: Doomsday to team up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and battle Doom. Unfortunately, Hercules probably won’t be joining them, as the actor who plays him wasn’t present at recent cast gatherings. Marvel needs to explain why they’re keeping such a strong character like Hercules out of the fight, especially since they haven’t fully established his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet.
2) The Watcher

Marvel generally keeps its animated shows and movies distinct from its live-action ones. While Captain Carter briefly appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, her role wasn’t significant. However, Uatu the Watcher, an animated character, is so powerful that Marvel may need to bring him into the main live-action universe.
The animated series What If…? features Uatu, a watcher who observes different universes facing disaster. He eventually breaks his rule of non-interference and assembles a team to fight Ultron when he gains the power of the Infinity Gauntlet. As the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe approaches its finale with events like Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it would be fitting to introduce Uatu into live-action, considering the potential stakes for all realities.
1) Moon Knight

In Moon Knight, Marc Spector begins experiencing gaps in his memory and soon discovers he’s been working as a vigilante, guided by the Egyptian god Khonshu. Once he understands this, he and his alternate personalities team up to stop Arthur Harrow. The series finale hints at a future for Moon Knight within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that potential hasn’t been explored yet.
Although Moon Knight might not be a good fit for a potential Doomsday project, there’s definitely a role for him somewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Oscar Isaac’s continued enthusiasm for the character certainly helps his chances. Marvel can’t postpone addressing Moon Knight’s future indefinitely.
