After six months of intense battles, DC Comics’ DC K.O. tournament has ended. Fans have been following their favorite heroes and villains as they fought for the chance to challenge Darkseid, the most powerful villain in the DC Universe. With Darkseid stronger than ever, the competition determined who would become the King Omega and gain the power to defeat him and restore peace to the DC Universe.
This series definitely wasn’t for everyone, and a lot of people wanted a more groundbreaking tournament. However, I really enjoyed it as a Superman story, and looking back, there were some fantastic scenes – like Superman using Darkseid’s Omega Sanction, or the Trinity battling their counterparts from another universe. While fans are still discussing how good the series was, I’d like to highlight some of the most exciting moments from the main story and its related comics to show just how cool it could be.
7. Joker Kills Batman

The tournament started with a huge upset! Despite the heroes’ efforts to control things, the villains quickly took over in the first round. The Joker made a shocking entrance by shooting Batman, a moment that truly surprised everyone – especially those who believed the official predictions. It was a clear sign that anything could happen in this competition.
6. Superman Claims Darkseid’s Power

It quickly becomes clear in DC K.O. that the tournament clashes with Superman’s heroic nature. He doesn’t enjoy defeating others, but Lex Luthor forces competitors to do just that to win. During a quest for powerful artifacts, the Heart of Apokolips suggests that whoever embodies Darkseid’s ruthlessness will find immense power. Inspired by this, Superman briefly attempts to sacrifice himself, and as a result, gains Darkseid’s Omega Sanction – a really awesome ability, even if it only lasts for one comic issue.
5. Joker and Red Hood’s Rematch

The books released alongside “All Fight Month” delivered the head-to-head battles fans wanted, culminating in a brutal showdown between the Joker and Red Hood. This fight was particularly intense, with Jason Todd relentlessly trying to defeat the Joker. It was the most competitive match of the second round, and Red Hood nearly won—but a minor rule technicality awarded the victory to the Joker. Despite some criticism of the Joker’s involvement, the fight was ultimately worthwhile, offering a surprisingly deep and violent look into both characters.
4. The Batman Who Laughs Trolls Us All

Okay, I’ll admit, the Joker in DC K.O. is a bit much sometimes, but he gets that he’s the villain. So when he got to pick a partner from across the multiverse, it was hilarious – and totally annoying! – that he chose the Batman Who Laughs. Honestly, I was groaning, but then it turned out it was all a prank pulled by Mr. Mxyzptlk with the Joker! You know what? I have to give the writers credit. They were counting on everyone being a little burned out on both those characters, and the joke totally landed. It was a really clever, self-aware moment that made me laugh out loud.
3. Batman’s Side Adventure with Other Batmen

Okay, so Batman was eliminated from the main tournament, but he got a second chance in DC K.O.: Knightfight! He came back thanks to some Apokoliptian armor, hoping to rejoin the competition. But using it wasn’t allowed, and the Heart of Apokolips made him pay for cheating. It forced him into this crazy side quest where he had to fight all his different Robins – each one grown up and become their own version of Batman from all sorts of wild, complicated futures! It’s been an amazing adventure, packed with action and even some heartbreaking moments. Honestly, it’s become less about physical danger for him and more about dealing with the emotional weight of everything.
2. The Absolute Trinity Fight

Darkseid was determined to conquer all, and to achieve this, he unleashed a terrifying new force: heroes from another timeline. These weren’t copies, but the real Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, taken from the near future and forced to fight for him through mind control. When Batman rejoined Superman and Wonder Woman in the tournament semifinals, it marked the first clash between the Prime and Absolute versions of this iconic trio. The battle was incredible, though unfortunately, it ended quickly.
1. King Omega Superman vs. Darkseid

Honestly, the whole thing culminated in an epic showdown between Superman and Darkseid. After the Time Trapper made the ultimate sacrifice, Superman was left as the final hero, and somehow ended up with Darkseid’s power – becoming the new King Omega! The fight itself was insane, spanning all of time and space. But you know what really got me? It wasn’t just that Superman got so powerful. It was what he did with it. He didn’t hoard the power; he shared it with all the other heroes who’d fought alongside him. That’s just classic Superman, isn’t it? Always making sure everyone gets a win. It felt so right for the character.
