In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), several characters appear less powerful compared to their comic book counterparts. While some differences are more noticeable, others become evident through their struggles with challenges they’d easily overcome in the comics. Some characters underwent significant changes for their on-screen appearances, while others seem weaker due to their inability to tackle certain obstacles. Overall, these adaptations present many characters as weaker than fans might anticipate.

1) Malekith 

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the portrayal of Malekith isn’t a feeble antagonist, but his solitary appearance in “Thor: The Dark World” failed to demonstrate the extent of his strength as compared to his comic book version. Malekith, from the comics, boasts a wide range of magical powers, along with increased physical attributes like strength, toughness, and agility. Regrettably, the MCU didn’t effectively showcase these abilities prior to his downfall, thereby giving the impression that he was significantly less powerful in the franchise compared to his comic book persona, essentially underutilizing Malekith as a formidable villain in the MCU.

2) Vision 

The potential power of Vision within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was hinted at upon his introduction, particularly when he possessed the Mind Stone. However, his capabilities were not fully explored, making him appear weaker than expected. In “Avengers: Infinity War,” Thanos overpowered Vision, and with the Mind Stone now missing, it seems he’ll be even less formidable in future MCU projects. Despite his capacity to become one of the MCU’s strongest heroes, Vision is currently significantly weaker on-screen than he could have been.

3) Ulysess Klaue 

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Ulysses Klaue is primarily portrayed as an arms dealer and later acquires a prosthetic arm functioning as a sonic weapon. However, his comic book counterpart possesses a far greater power, being composed of semi-solid sound, making him virtually invincible against most physical attacks. It’s evident that Klaue is much less formidable in the MCU compared to his comic book representation.

4) Yondu 

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Guardians of the Galaxy made significant advancements over the comic books, yet one character who seemed underdeveloped was Yondu Udonta. In the MCU, Yondu is portrayed as a Ravager equipped with the potent Yaka Arrow, but he appears weaker compared to his comics counterpart. The MCU presents him as a common humanoid being, with his mastery of the Yaka Arrow serving as his main asset. In contrast, in the comics, Yondu initially had enhanced physical abilities and senses, and his Yaka Arrow was even more powerful than its MCU version.

5) Baron von Strucker 

Despite the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) occasionally being lenient when it comes to killing off its villains, some characters are dispatched too quickly. One such instance is Baron von Strucker, who met his end shortly after appearing on screen. Unlike his comic book counterpart, who was infected with a lethal Deathspore virus, the MCU’s version of the character lacked any such powers and was hastily eliminated before his abilities could be explored.

Among the numerous deceased characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Odin, the ex-king of Asgard, stands out as a prime candidate for revival. Although Odin was portrayed as a formidable figure in his MCU appearances, it’s worth noting that he had already reached the peak of his powers by then. The MCU didn’t fully explore the extent of his abilities, but in the comics, Odin is known to be one of the mightiest beings within the Marvel Universe. His passing in the MCU appears to imply that he was considerably weaker in the movies compared to his comic book counterpart.

7) Hulk 

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Hulk, one of the original Avengers, stands among the franchise’s most crucial characters. While his immense power is a staple in the MCU, it pales in comparison to his comic book counterpart. In the comics, the Hulk’s strength isn’t just superhuman; it’s tied directly to his anger, making his potential power limitless. Comic Hulk has been depicted as capable of punching a gap in time itself and being essentially indestructible. These feats are yet to be demonstrated in the MCU, giving the impression that the movie version is less powerful.
