Many fans believe Batman’s extensive preparation allows him to defeat any opponent. While he’s consistently shown the ability to strategize against powerful DC heroes like Superman and even had a plan to defeat him, it’s worth considering how he’d fare against heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite his impressive plans and strong showings against DC’s Justice League, some MCU heroes likely possess the power to win in a direct confrontation.

Here’s a look at seven heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe – including some Avengers – who could likely win in a fight against Batman.

7) Captain America

A fight between Batman and Captain America would likely be incredibly close and go the distance. Both are exceptional fighters capable of defeating almost anyone, even each other. However, Captain America’s Super Soldier Formula gives him a slight edge.

Batman has dealt with opponents like Captain America before, and he’s always managed to defeat Bane in their battles. However, Captain America presents a unique challenge, and it’s very possible he could win in a fight against Batman, though it wouldn’t be a guaranteed victory every time.

6) Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel contributed to the growing trend of increasingly powerful characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After gaining extraordinary cosmic abilities and undergoing rigorous Kree military training, she became an incredibly formidable fighter. Her power level was so high, in fact, that the plot of Avengers: Infinity War required her to be off-world to allow Thanos’s plan to work.

In a fight between Captain Marvel and Batman, Captain Marvel would easily win. Unlike heroes like Superman or Wonder Woman, Batman wouldn’t be able to use any specific weaknesses against her. She’s simply too strong, too fast, and her ability to control cosmic energy would let her quickly defeat him.

5) Thor

Thor would easily win in a fight against Batman. Batman typically has trouble with opponents who are gods and usually needs to discover a specific weakness to defeat them. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor hasn’t really shown any significant weaknesses as long as he’s confident, though the comic books have explored ways to reduce his power.

Nick Fury once tricked Thor into thinking he’d lost his worthiness, which significantly weakened him. Batman is capable of similar psychological tactics. However, Thor often holds back against human opponents, as demonstrated when he easily defeated Iron Man after the Civil War storyline. In a direct fight, Thor would win against Batman.

4) Hulk

It’s likely Hulk could actually defeat Superman, and Batman wouldn’t stand a chance against him. Batman usually relies on strategy and exploiting weaknesses when fighting powerful foes like Solomon Grundy or Killer Croc to keep them under control. However, Hulk doesn’t get fatigued, and his strength increases with his anger, making him a completely different challenge.

Batman’s only real strategy is to try and calm Hulk down, turning him back into Bruce Banner and ending the fight. But as long as Hulk remains enraged, he’ll keep attacking until he completely destroys Batman. While Batman might have a slightly better chance against Hulk than against Thor, he’d still likely lose in a direct confrontation.

3) Black Panther

Black Panther is a more skilled strategist than Captain America. While Captain America always fights with honor, Black Panther is willing to do whatever it takes to win. This strategic thinking is a key reason Wakanda has never been defeated, showcasing Black Panther’s cleverness and brilliance in combat.

When it comes to skill and fighting prowess, T’Challa, as Black Panther, is Marvel’s closest match to Batman. But Black Panther is stronger and faster thanks to a special herb, and he also has the advanced technology of Wakanda to help him. A fight between them would be incredibly tough and closely matched, but Black Panther’s extra abilities and skills would likely give him the edge most of the time.

2) Scarlet Witch

Batman typically struggles when facing magical threats, and a fight against the Scarlet Witch would be incredibly difficult for him. Wanda Maximoff is ruthless and will stop at nothing to achieve her goals, hurting anyone who opposes her. Because Batman lacks defenses against magic, Wanda could easily overpower him.

Wanda’s biggest weakness isn’t her power, but her mental state. She sometimes struggles to control her abilities because of past trauma, making it hard to focus. If Batman can unsettle her emotionally, he could potentially gain an advantage and make the fight competitive. However, Wanda would still likely win most of the time.

1) Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is the Marvel hero most likely to win in a fight against Batman. He’s the most powerful magic user in the MCU, and like Batman, he’s always prepared with backup plans. Strange has better control of his abilities than other heroes like Wanda, and he’s a highly skilled fighter, even against incredibly dangerous opponents.

Okay, let’s talk Doctor Strange versus Batman. Everyone assumes Batman’s physical prowess would give him the edge, and honestly, he could win a straight-up brawl. But I think people are underestimating Strange. He’s not going to let it get to that point. He’d use his magic to deflect Batman’s attacks and completely disrupt his strategies. If Strange plays his cards right – and he absolutely would – Batman wouldn’t stand a chance. It wouldn’t be a fair fight, and ultimately, I think Strange takes it every time.
