The DC Universe is vast, filled with numerous galaxies and planets inhabited by alien life. The main protectors of this expansive universe are the Green Lantern Corps, who use their willpower and special rings to create solid objects made of light. While many famous Green Lanterns come from Earth, the majority of the Corps’ members are from other planets. With thousands of members, the Green Lantern Corps is one of the biggest and most varied superhero groups in comic books. Many of the aliens deemed worthy of a ring are incredibly strange, possessing appearances and powers that seem impossible. Despite their unusual nature, these alien Green Lanterns are committed to defending the universe from evil.
The DC Universe is full of unusual Green Lanterns protecting wildly different areas of space. These Lanterns are as strange and unique as the sectors they guard, and their powers often reflect that. Some of the most peculiar beings in the entire universe have actually worn a Green Lantern ring – everything from giant, collective minds to decaying bodies.
7) Collective

Space Sector 1287 is remarkably safe, and that’s because of the Green Lantern known as the Collective. When the previous Green Lantern, TO-T-U-K, decided to retire, he searched the sector for someone worthy to take his place. It seemed difficult at first, but he eventually discovered his successor wasn’t a single person – it was a vast network of tiny, floating creatures. These puffball-like beings aren’t very intelligent on their own, but when they come together, they possess the immense willpower needed to control a Green Lantern ring. Spread across billions of bodies and sharing a single mind, the Collective safeguards every part of their sector at the same time.
6) Leezle Pon

While Mogo is known as the largest Green Lantern, Leezle Pon is the smallest – a microscopic, sentient strain of the smallpox virus who is nonetheless a heroic protector of Space Sector 119. Leezle Pon serves as the Green Lantern Corps’ leading expert on biological warfare, capable of combating even the most dangerous diseases. During the Sinestro Corps War, Sinestro unleashed his own virus, Despotellis, which infected Guy Gardner. Leezle Pon immediately intervened, driven by a personal vendetta – Despotellis had previously killed his Green Lantern partner, Reemuz. Ultimately, Leezle Pon defeated Despotellis and saved Guy Gardner’s life.
5) Flodo Span

Green Lanterns come in many forms, but Flodo Span is unique – he’s a living gas. As the Green Lantern of Space Sector 875, he uses his power ring to create a solid body for himself. This unusual ability allows him to overwhelm opponents by completely surrounding them. He once pushed this power to the extreme when Sinestro teamed up with a living Space Sector, risking his own mind to encompass the entire sector. Though a fellow Green Lantern saved him from losing himself, Flodo Span sadly perished while investigating a problem with the Central Green Lantern Battery.
4) Driq

While characters like Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner are known for their incredible willpower, Driq, a Green Lantern from Space Sector 667, possessed a will even stronger than theirs. Sinestro killed Driq, but his ring was so powerful it wouldn’t let him stay dead – even after he was torn apart. Driq repeatedly came back to life thanks to his ring, essentially becoming a zombie Lantern. Ultimately, he was finally destroyed when the central Green Lantern Battery was ruined, cutting off the ring’s power. Driq’s story demonstrates that even death couldn’t overcome an exceptionally strong Green Lantern’s will.
3) B’ox

DC Comics often creates very strange and memorable alien designs, but Green Lantern B’ox is remarkably simple. He’s essentially a large, rectangular shape with no eyes or limbs, living up to his boxy name. Just as unusual as his appearance is the mystery surrounding his origins – no one knows where he’s from or which part of space he protects. Adding to the puzzle, B’ox communicates only through pictures of cubes, making it impossible to know what he’s thinking. Despite this enigma, B’ox bravely fought in the “Sinestro Corps War” and even built a massive robot to fight the powerful Infinity Man. He may not look like a typical hero, but B’ox is a dedicated member of the Green Lantern Corps.
2) Rot Lop Fan

Rot Lop Fan comes from a region of space without any stars, and his species is naturally blind. When he was chosen to be a Green Lantern, he had to find a creative way to use the power ring. Since he couldn’t perceive light, creating the usual light-based constructs was impossible. Instead, Rot Lop Fan learned to channel sonic energy through the ring, creating powerful attacks. He became known as the F-Sharp Bell, protecting his starless sector with a unique oath: “in loudest din or hush profound, my ears catch evil’s slightest sound. Let those who toll out evil’s knell, beware my power: F-Sharp Bell!”
1) Dkrtzy RRR

Dkrtzy RRR is a truly unique Green Lantern – he’s actually a living math equation! He was discovered by a somewhat eccentric mathematician, Timph Rye, who believed willpower could be explained with formulas. As the protector of Space Sector 188, Dkrtzy RRR remains largely unknown because he doesn’t have a physical body, and only the Guardians of the Universe can detect him. He’s not only the weirdest Green Lantern, but also one of the most dangerous. Instead of fighting physically, he defeats his enemies by entering their minds and completely wiping them from existence – a tactic the Guardians strongly disapprove of.
