The Justice League is one of the most powerful teams in comic books. It started as a way to handle threats too big for any single hero, and with members as strong as theirs, that’s impressive. Over time, the League has become the primary defense for the entire DC Multiverse, filled with some of the most powerful heroes ever assembled. Among them, Wonder Woman stands out as particularly resilient. The Amazonian princess is both incredibly skilled and physically strong, capable of defeating powerful foes like the war god Ares. She’s even demonstrated her strength by wielding the Washington Monument as a weapon.
Wonder Woman is incredibly strong, but she isn’t the most powerful member of the Justice League. Several other Leaguers possess abilities that far exceed her own, and these seven heroes have been crucial in overcoming the League’s biggest threats.
7) Hal Jordan

The Green Lantern Corps is a powerful force, and its Earth-based members are often the strongest. Among them, Hal Jordan stands out as the most powerful Lantern. Though not as physically strong as someone like Wonder Woman, his power ring grants him nearly limitless abilities. He typically creates energy constructs shaped like everyday objects – often baseball bats or boxing gloves – and his incredible willpower makes them exceptionally durable. He can also generate protective force fields and even travel faster than light. The ring itself contains a sophisticated computer connected to the vast knowledge banks of Oa, making it a truly remarkable tool. It’s no surprise the Green Lantern ring is considered the most powerful weapon in existence.
6) Captain Atom

Captain Atom gained his incredible abilities after an accident involving an alien metal, which also sent him hurtling through time. Once a soldier, he now possesses a vast range of powers, including control over time, matter, and energy, as well as super strength, invulnerability, and the ability to fly. After a significant event, he even gained the power to absorb the powers of other super-powered individuals. While he might not be as physically strong as Wonder Woman, his diverse skillset makes him one of the Justice League’s most powerful heroes.
5) Firestorm

Professor Martin Stein developed the Firestorm Matrix, a process allowing two people – typically Stein and a young person like Robbie Raymond or Jason Rousch – to combine into a single being. This fusion grants Firestorm incredible abilities, including super strength, the power to fly, invulnerability, control over his own density, and access to nuclear and molecular energy. He can even change one element into another and build new compounds. Often underestimated, Firestorm’s power is immense – as long as one half of the merged pair understands chemistry, he can theoretically create almost anything. While manipulating living tissue is difficult, he’s demonstrated limited success with intense focus. Even Wonder Woman, with all her strength, would be outmatched by Firestorm.
4) Barry Allen

Wonder Woman is incredibly fast, but even she can’t keep up with Barry Allen, also known as The Flash. Barry gained his super speed when he was struck by lightning after being exposed to chemicals, unlocking access to the Speed Force. This power source makes him a hero in Central City and one of the most powerful beings on Earth. Not only is he incredibly fast, but Barry’s understanding of physics enhances his abilities. He can use the Speed Force to travel across different universes and, with the help of a special device called the Cosmic Treadmill, even journey through time. In fact, he’s capable of exceeding the speed of light! Barry Allen is a key member of the Justice League thanks to the Speed Force, but surprisingly, he isn’t the fastest person on the team who can tap into it.
3) Wally West

Wally West is considered the most powerful person to ever take on the mantle of the Flash. Inspired by his aunt Iris West-Allen’s hero, Barry Allen, he gained his powers in a similar accident. Over time, Wally surpassed even Barry, learning from multiple speedsters like Jay Garrick, Johnny Quick, and Max Mercury. He achieved feats no other speedster could, becoming the first to break the speed of light and truly master the Speed Force. Though he wasn’t as skilled at time or dimensional travel, Wally is arguably one of the most powerful beings on Earth – even surpassing heroes like Wonder Woman in terms of sheer power and speed.
2) Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter is often overlooked as one of the Justice League’s greatest heroes. He possesses an incredibly diverse and powerful set of abilities, arguably the best in all of comics. He’s incredibly strong, nearly indestructible, can move at super speed, shapeshift, has heightened senses, Martian vision, can become invisible and pass through solid objects, and is a powerful telepath. In fact, J’onn J’onnz is Earth’s most skilled telepath, capable of defeating even the strongest psychic opponents like Doctor Psycho and Gorilla Grodd. He’s on par with Superman in terms of power, and his wide range of abilities surpasses even Wonder Woman’s, despite her own impressive strength and speed.
1) Superman

Superman is widely considered the Justice League’s top hero, and for good reason. Although other members possess great power, Superman’s strength and speed are unmatched – seemingly without limits. He can withstand nearly any attack and fly faster than light, even hearing things at a subatomic level. While Wonder Woman is a formidable opponent and has fought him many times, Superman consistently demonstrates greater strength. She can defend herself effectively, but even Wonder Woman acknowledges she wouldn’t stand a chance if Superman truly unleashed his full power. He’s simply on a different level of power compared to her.
