As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve always been fascinated by the Hulk. Seriously, Bruce Banner’s alter ego is one of the most powerful – and terrifying – characters in the entire multiverse. It’s not just brute strength, either; the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes. We’re talking about a nearly limitless power source fueled by pure rage, which means he’s gone toe-to-toe with some of Marvel’s biggest names, both heroes and villains. But here’s the scary part: when the Hulk loses control, he really loses control, and some incredibly powerful characters haven’t survived. I’m talking about legitimate cosmic-level beings who’ve fallen to the Jolly Green Giant, whether it’s in the main Marvel universe or in alternate realities. They throw everything they’ve got at him, but the Hulk always seems to come out on top, proving why he’s often called the strongest one there is.
This list details the most powerful Marvel beings the Hulk has defeated, ranging from otherworldly dragons to gods with reality-bending abilities.
7) Wonder Man

In the alternate reality of Earth-9511, a story called The Last Avengers Story depicts a grim fate for Earth’s mightiest heroes. Most of the Avengers have fallen in battle against Kang the Conqueror. The Hulk, the sole survivor of a devastating event on Olympus called the Great Cataclysm, has lost his mind. Driven insane, he turns on the few remaining Avengers, tragically killing Tigra before confronting Wonder Man. During their fight, the Hulk tears open Wonder Man’s skin, risking the release of immense power. Rather than let the Hulk live, Wonder Man sacrifices himself, detonating his own energy and killing both himself and the Hulk. Even in death, the Hulk manages to defeat a powerful hero who has battled on equal terms with characters like Thor and Ultron.
6) Fin Fang Foom

While the Hulk is famous, Marvel Comics features other huge, green threats, like Fin Fang Foom – a massive alien dragon capable of leveling mountains and cities. In Incredible Hulks #634, set in the strange Dark Dimension, the Hulk fights Tyrannis, a villain who rides atop Fin Fang Foom and commands an army of demons. During this battle, the sorceress Umar tricks Red She-Hulk into attacking the Hulk. Their collision creates a massive explosion that destroys the entire planet. Fin Fang Foom was seemingly killed in the blast, but the explosion also activated a magical well that instantly resurrected everyone, including the dragon.
5) Silver Surfer

Earth-2149 is a terrifying reality where the events of Marvel Zombies have unfolded. A zombie plague has swept the world, turning even famous heroes like the Hulk into monstrous undead. Despite being decayed, the Hulk remains incredibly strong, even capable of fighting powerful cosmic beings. When the Silver Surfer arrives to warn everyone about Galactus, the zombie heroes immediately attack. Initially, the Silver Surfer’s immense cosmic power easily defeats them. However, even with the ability to destroy planets, he’s ultimately no match for the Hulk, who bites his head off. The situation quickly escalates as the Hulk and the other zombies devour the Silver Surfer, absorbing his incredible cosmic power for themselves.
4) Armageddon

Arm’Cheddon, also known as Armageddon, is a powerful alien warrior who has defeated the Silver Surfer. He can channel energy to become as strong as the Worldbreaker Hulk. In the Incredible Hulks comic series, Armageddon invaded Earth and captured Hulk’s friends, Rick Jones and Jen Walters. This made Hulk furious, and he defeated Armageddon by crushing his face. While this didn’t kill Armageddon, he was later accidentally destroyed by a collision between Hulk and Red She-Hulk in Incredible Hulks #634. However, like Fin Fang Foom, Armageddon was quickly brought back to life by a wishing well.
3) Galactus

Galactus, a being with almost unlimited power, could destroy the entire Marvel Multiverse simply by reaching his full potential. However, even he was no match for the Hulk when the Hulk became a vessel for the One Below All – a dark counterpart to the creator of everything. In Immortal Hulk #24, we see a future where a corrupted Hulk actually kills Galactus and becomes the last being alive in a collapsing multiverse. Like Galactus before him, the Hulk then evolved into a powerful cosmic force as a new universe began. Now called the Breaker-Apart, this version of the Hulk has almost destroyed all life in this new multiverse.
2) Franklin Richards

Franklin Richards, the son of Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman, is considered the most powerful being in the universe. He has the incredible ability to alter reality and effortlessly create entire universes. Prophecies state he will eventually become the last being of his cosmic era and take on the role of Galactus, consuming worlds to survive. However, in an alternate reality (Earth-TRN781), Franklin suffered a similar fate to the Hulk, who was empowered by an even greater cosmic entity. While we don’t directly see their deaths, the Hulk reveals he killed both Franklin and Galactus, demonstrating the immense power granted to him by this higher being. This highlights just how powerful the Hulk became.
1) Eternity

In Immortal Hulk #24, the Hulk shockingly killed Eternity, a being who represents the entire Marvel Universe. While this version of Eternity wasn’t as powerful as others due to being near the end of his life, he still possessed immense cosmic power over time and space. Despite this, the Hulk—acting as an extension of the One Below All—easily defeated and consumed him. By doing so, the Hulk transformed into Breaker-Apart, a devastating force destined to destroy the Ninth Cosmos.
