7 Shonen Jump Anime We Need to See Announced in 2026 (Ranked By Hype Level)

Many popular anime series are currently being developed based on stories from Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, with more releases planned for later this year and beyond. While most of the magazine’s biggest hits already have anime adaptations, seven current series still haven’t announced plans for one, leaving fans waiting for news.

Several promising series in Shonen Jump haven’t yet received an anime adaptation, despite being long enough to support at least one season – or even a multi-year show. At the very least, they have enough content for a special anime presentation. Here are seven Shonen Jump series that deserve an anime announcement this year.

7). The Ichinose Family’s Deadly Sins

Although the story of The Ichinose Family’s Deadly Sins is quite extreme and unusual for an anime, the creator, Taizan 5, has previously had success adapting their work, like Takopi’s Original Sin. This new series is concise enough to be told in a single season, similar to how Takopi’s Original Sin was adapted as a short series.

I’m really excited about the potential for adapting this story – especially because it’s the kind of series that gets inside your head! We’re talking characters grappling with lost memories, lives built on false pretenses, and all sorts of mind-bending stuff. It centers on a family with a seriously messed-up and scary relationship, which honestly makes it the perfect anime to really leave an impact – the kind that stays with you and hits you on a deeply emotional level.

6). Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi

Shoichi Isui’s Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi would be great as an anime. The story follows a very skilled exorcist battling incredibly powerful demons, and each story arc features increasingly epic fights and escalating power levels. It constantly feels like the biggest threat has been defeated, only to reveal an even more formidable enemy is still out there.

The latest installments of this series feel very reminiscent of the past, and while they might not be a hit with everyone, Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi is still a captivating story. The character and creature designs are really creative and would look amazing animated, so hopefully we’ll get to see an adaptation soon.

5). Hima-Ten!

If you enjoy classic romantic comedies, especially those from Shonen Jump, you’ll likely love Genki Ono’s Hima-Ten! The story has all the familiar tropes – several girls vying for the attention of one boy, who’s secretly in love with someone unaware of his feelings. What sets it apart is how assertive the girls are in pursuing Tenichi Iemori – they’re not shy about making their feelings known, which feels very refreshing for today’s audience.

This isn’t a story driven by dramatic romance or catfights between the characters – it feels much more natural and emotionally mature. The relationships develop smoothly, and each of the potential partners has a compelling reason why they deserve to be with Tenichi. As an anime, it’s the kind of series that would easily win over viewers.

4). Shinobi Undercover

If you enjoyed Naruto, you’ll likely love Shinobi Undercover by Ippon Takegushi and Santa Mitarashi. This action-packed series follows Yodaka, a talented young ninja, who goes undercover to protect a high school student from dangerous criminals. Yodaka struggles with social interactions, and his relationship with the student he’s protecting grows and changes as they face new challenges together.

Shinobi Undercover is packed with exciting action and battles. Recently, the fights have become even more dynamic with each ninja developing unique abilities. This series has a lot of potential and could really gain popularity with a new anime adaptation, so now’s the perfect time to start following it.

3). Nue’s Exorcist

Kota Kawae’s Nue’s Exorcist is a bit of an oddity in Shonen Jump. While the series has performed well since its 2023 debut, it doesn’t seem to generate a lot of buzz. That’s unfortunate, because it’s a really engaging, nostalgic story about a character named Gakuro who becomes powerful enough to defeat any enemy. As he grows stronger, he also attracts a large group of romantic interests who all have feelings for him.

Several other manga from the same era in Shonen Jump, such as Akane-banashi, Kill Blue, and RuriDragon, are already being adapted into anime. This makes the lack of an anime for this particular series increasingly noticeable. It’s a great fit for an anime because of its many characters, each with unique personalities and abilities, but it likely won’t receive the attention it deserves until an adaptation is announced.

2). Ichi the Witch

One of the most remarkable recent success stories in manga is Ichi the Witch. Artist Shiro Usazaki had been gaining a lot of attention from Shonen Jump readers with Act-Age, which looked set to be incredibly popular. However, the series was unfortunately cancelled when the writer faced serious legal issues. Years later, Usazaki partnered with Osamu Nishi, the creator of Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun, to create a brand new magical series.

When Ichi the Witch first came out, it quickly gained a following. The story centers on Ichi, a young hunter who becomes the first boy ever to possess magical witch powers. Now, he must hunt down dangerous magical creatures called Magik, fighting alongside witches to eliminate these threats. It’s a really exciting story that will be even more amazing when it’s adapted into an animated series.

1). Kagurabachi

I’ve been watching the buzz around new anime adaptations, and one series Shonen Jump fans are really excited about is Kagurabachi by Takeru Hokazono. Even before the first chapter came out, people were already imagining it as an anime, and it’s easy to see why. The story follows a young boy named Chihiro Rokuhira, who is determined to avenge his father’s death.

The main challenge is that his father forged incredibly powerful magical swords, and Chihiro has been battling progressively stronger opponents ever since. The story already has several exciting fight scenes visualized, making it ideal for an anime adaptation. There’s currently enough content developed for a full first season, so it’s just a question of when production will begin. An anime adaptation is almost certain to happen.
