Details about the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday are scarce, which is expected since it’s still a year away from release and Marvel is keeping it tightly under wraps. While we await the full trailer in 2026, four short teasers will be shown before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Two of those teasers have already been released, and thanks to leaks, we know what the third teaser will be when Fire and Ash has been playing for three weeks.
Let’s break down what we’ve seen in all four trailers, not just the latest one. While we haven’t yet seen Robert Downey Jr.’s face as Doctor Doom, we’re starting to understand the direction the movie is taking.
7) Captain America Is Back (& Has A Child)

Looking back at The Fantastic Four: First Steps, that whole scene with the button now seems like a really clever foreshadowing of Doctor Doom’s plan in Doomsday. It’s become pretty clear to me he’s targeting the kids of all the superheroes, probably to steal their developing powers and use them for something evil.
Okay, so things are getting really interesting with the new Doomsday project. First, we saw Doctor Doom down on one knee near young Franklin Richards, and then – get this – we just got our first glimpse of Chris Evans as Captain America in six years, and he’s holding a baby! It’s wild – the first two bits of info we’ve gotten both focus on a little kid. It definitely feels like children are going to be a big part of the story.
6) Love Returns

Before the events of Doomsday, Thor underwent a significant change, evolving from a boastful and self-centered god to someone more humble. He then spiraled into deep sadness after being unable to prevent Thanos’s attack. Even after dealing with Thanos, he faced another period of intense grief following the loss of Jane Foster.
Instead of falling into his usual self-destructive patterns, Thor actually found something truly meaningful: a daughter, Love. We only get a quick glimpse of their relationship in Love and Thunder, but it’s clear he’s loving being a dad. The Doomsday trailer confirms Love will be back, and that sweet little head-kiss? It really solidifies that father-daughter bond and sets up what I’m hoping will be a really touching storyline. Which brings me to what I want to talk about next…
5) Doom Is Terrifying Enough to Make Thor Scared

The first look at the new Thor movie mainly shows him praying to his late father, Odin, and other ancient leaders. He’s determined to return home after a final, major fight so he can continue being a dad.
Seeing Thor, who was once so sure of himself, now filled with fear is really compelling. This scene effectively establishes Doctor Doom as a villain who is as dangerous as Thanos, or possibly even more so.
4) Magneto & Professor X Are Allies

The latest preview for Doomsday apparently shows Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto enjoying a chess game. But while the game itself might seem peaceful, their conversation is said to be very serious and concerning.
Professor X and Magneto had a surprisingly tender conversation about death, even briefly holding hands. Magneto shared his perspective, stating that everyone eventually dies, and the real question isn’t if you’re ready, but who you are at the moment of death.
3) The X-Mansion Is Destroyed

It was exciting to learn some of the actors from the X-Men movies would be appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but fans wondered why not everyone from the previous films was included. Specifically, people were curious about the absence of characters like Jean Grey, Storm, Iceman, and Rogue.
The recent X-Men teaser suggests some characters might die without actually being shown on screen. The teaser depicts the X-Mansion in ruins, with Cyclops kneeling amongst the wreckage.
2) Cyclops Wears the Blue & Yellow Costume

As a huge animation fan, I almost lost it when I heard a snippet of the classic X-Men ’97 theme in the Doomsday teaser! But it wasn’t just the music – seeing Cyclops in his original yellow and blue costume was amazing. And honestly, while the live-action suit is great, there was something even more exciting about that quick shot of him – a little detail that really caught my eye.
1) Sentinels Are Back

Seeing Cyclops kneeling in the ruins of the X-Mansion, we briefly glimpse the cause of the devastation: the legs of the Sentinels. Knowing the Sentinels’ history with mutants, this helps explain the recent losses suffered by the X-Men and makes the situation even more heartbreaking.
Cyclops is in serious trouble and might not survive, as he’s facing the Sentinels without his protective eyewear, giving them everything he’s got. We’ll find out how this confrontation ends in December 2026.
