The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a huge number of characters, and it’s important to give supporting characters attention, not just the main heroes. Characters like Sam Wilson proved their worth in films like *Captain America: The Winter Soldier* and *Captain America: Civil War* before taking on larger roles, showing that developing these characters when possible is a good idea. However, it’s hard to predict which characters will become fan favorites, especially if they don’t start out as major players.
It’s common for Marvel Cinematic Universe characters to make a strong impression in their scenes, then fade into the background or disappear completely. Being a supporting character in such a massive franchise can be tough, but fans still remember them fondly. Here are seven MCU characters who deserve more attention.
7) Kraglin
Kraglin might have seemed a little clumsy in the first two *Guardians of the Galaxy* films, but he’s incredibly loyal to Yondu, sticking with him no matter what. He brings that same dedication to the Guardians when he joins them on Knowhere, and it really makes a difference when he helps rescue a huge number of animals from the High Evolutionary. Kraglin is the kind of friend everyone needs, even if he’s not the easiest person to have a deep conversation with.
6) Ayo
Wakanda is full of memorable characters, and it’s easy to overlook how crucial Ayo is to the story. She stands with T’Challa during *Civil War*, even offering to fight Black Widow. When Killmonger attacks, Ayo is right there defending Wakanda and her king. While Okoya is often seen as the leader of the Dora Milaje, Ayo is the one who truly keeps things running.
5) Melina Vostokoff
The Marvel Cinematic Universe features many villains and dangerous people, and it’s surprisingly common for heroes to unknowingly assist them. Melina Vostokoff, a former Red Room operative, initially helps the villain Dreykov continue his brainwashing program. However, her loyalties change when she reconnects with her adopted daughters. Even though she only appears in one MCU film, Black Widow, Melina plays a crucial role in setting up Yelena Belova to eventually become an Avenger.
4) Ho Yinsen
Tony Stark owes a debt of gratitude to many people who helped him change his life, like Pepper Potts and James Rhodes. But it was Ho Yinsen who first truly mentored him, helping Tony survive and innovate while held captive by the Ten Rings. Though Yinsen tragically died during their escape in *Iron Man*, the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be drastically different without his influence.
3) Frigga
Odin, Loki, and Thor are the Asgardians everyone focuses on, likely because of their powers and important storylines. However, Frigga is equally important. She’s the family’s guiding force, providing a strong moral center. Without her influence, Loki would become even more villainous, and Thor would lack the self-belief he needs, as seen in *Avengers: Endgame*.
2) B-15
Loki, the trickster god, finds himself in trouble when he encounters the Time Variant Authority in his own series. Luckily, he teams up with allies like Mobius and B-15, who see beyond his mischievous exterior. B-15 becomes a key leader, ultimately taking control of the TVA after a major revelation about He Who Remains – and even Deadpool and Wolverine are thankful for her help.
1) Maria Hill
Nick Fury often overshadows the other people who work at S.H.I.E.L.D., but Maria Hill is just as vital. She’s involved in every big battle and always handles things with grace under pressure. While the MCU’s decision to kill her off in *Secret Invasion* feels unfair, it doesn’t diminish her years of dedication fighting alongside the Avengers and other heroes.
