7 Underrated New Fall 2025 Anime Released This Month

2025 has been a fantastic year for anime, with popular shows like *Solo Leveling* and *Dandadan* making a comeback. We also saw some great new series debut, including *Gachiakuta* and *Witch Watch*. The Fall 2025 season is here, bringing a mix of returning favorites and fresh content for anime fans. While shows like *Spy x Family* Season 3 and *My Hero Academia: Final Season* are getting a lot of buzz, there are plenty of new series that deserve attention too.

Every season brings a lot of new shows, and unfortunately, some great ones get overlooked. Others, like *Secrets of the Silent Witch*, have a small but dedicated following, even though they deserve to be much more popular. The anime series listed below range from hidden gems to those with growing fanbases, but they all came out in October and are definitely worth checking out.

7) A Star Brighter Than the Sun

Inspired by Kazune Kawahara’s manga, *A Star Brighter Than the Sun* is a sweet story about childhood friends who develop feelings for each other. Sae Iwata has always been there for Kouki Kamishiro, ever since they were in elementary school. When they start high school, she realizes her feelings for him have grown into something more. However, Kouki is popular and attracting attention from other students, so Sae isn’t the only one who likes him.

6) A Wild Last Boss Appeared!

This anime series first appeared in Japan on October 4th, 2025, with some episodes available online even earlier, starting September 27th. It tells the story of a regular guy who unexpectedly wakes up inside the game character he used to play – Lufas Maphaahl, a powerful, black-winged leader once known as one of the Twelve Stars of Heaven. Set 200 years after Lufas was defeated by a group of heroes, the story follows him as he navigates a world that feels incredibly real. Now in Lufas’s body, he sets out on a quest across the land of Exgate to bring the scattered Twelve Stars of Heaven back together and figure out why he was reborn.

5) Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!

Melphiera Marchalrayd is a noblewoman who loves cooking with monster meat – a hobby that makes her an outcast among the kingdom’s elite. Despite the dangers of these creatures, she believes their meat is incredibly delicious when prepared correctly and is determined to prove it. However, her unusual passion makes it difficult to find a husband, much to her family’s disappointment. When she meets the talented warrior Aristide Rogier du Galbraith at a social event, she begins to hope he might be the partner she’s been waiting for.

4) Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days

Everyone loves a good romantic comedy, and *Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days* is shaping up to be the ideal cozy show for this fall. When Kiyoko Yoshida, the class president, first meets Tsuyoshi Yano, he’s covered in bruises, and she immediately wants to help. She even starts following him, concerned about his well-being, until she realizes he’s just incredibly clumsy! From then on, Kiyoko always keeps a first-aid kit handy and does her best to protect him from getting hurt.

3) Sanda

I recently watched the anime *Dandadan*, and it’s really something! It’s based on a fantastic action-mystery manga by Paru Itagaki, who also created *Beastars*. The story takes place in Japan, not too far in the future, and the country is dealing with a huge problem: almost no children. Seriously, less than 1% of the population is under 15, so kids are heavily protected and live in boarding schools. The main character, Kazushige Sanda, is just a normal 14-year-old until his classmate, Shiori Fuyumura, discovers he’s related to Santa Claus and makes him promise to grant her a wish. Seeing how things are in his country, Kazushige decides he wants to *become* Santa Claus when he grows up, to stand up for the kids and fight against the adults.

2) May I Ask for One Final Thing?

“May I Ask for One Final Thing?” is a fantasy romance novel originally written as a light novel in 2018 by Nana Ootori and later adapted into a manga. The story follows Scarlet el Vandimion, a noblewoman betrothed to the second prince since birth. After years of being mistreated, she finally snaps when falsely accused, unleashing her hidden power on dozens of nobles in a dramatic ballroom brawl. The story then follows her quest for revenge, complicated by the persistent teasing of the crown prince, Julius von Pallistan, who seems to delight in provoking her.

1) Dusk Beyond the End of the World

Naokatsu Tsuda, the director and writer known for his work on the popular *JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure*, brings us this original anime set in a world devastated by an apocalypse. Akira Himegami awakens after being frozen for 200 years to find everything he once knew is gone. He’s completely alone until he meets Yuugure, an android who bears a striking resemblance to his girlfriend, Towasa Omaki—the only difference is her hair color. Because Towasa was a gifted AI developer, Akira believes she might still be alive. Though initially hesitant, he allows Yuugure to join him on his quest to find Towasa.
