After seven years, Shonen Jump’s most intense series might be wrapping up, and many fans believe it’s a good time to bring it to a close. Several popular manga have already finished recently, starting with My Hero Academia in summer 2024 after ten years, and then Jujutsu Kaisen later that year. Other Shonen Jump series are also nearing their end, like Sakamoto Days, which is currently showing its final fight, and Blue Box, which has officially entered its final arc.
Both Black Clover and Chainsaw Man appear to be heading towards their conclusions. Black Clover is predicted to finish in 2026, while Chainsaw Man, which has run for over seven years, is also showing signs of nearing its end. The series’ editor, Shihei Lin, recently suggested this in a post on X, describing the manga as having reached its central point – a signal that the story is approaching its climax. Based on where the story currently stands, it seems increasingly likely that Chainsaw Man will conclude soon.
Chainsaw Man’s Editor Hints the Series May Be Ending Soon
The story is finally reaching its core! Volume 23 of Chainsaw Man is out today.
The Death Devil has appeared before Denji—and after hearing the War Devil’s motives, Denji is still hesitant. What will the Death Devil show him?
I really hope you’ll check it out at your local bookstore!

Shihei Lin announced that Volume 23 of Chainsaw Man is now available and that the story is entering its most important part. The editor’s note suggests that chapters 211-222 are key to understanding the central conflict. This means the current storyline, focusing on the fight between Yoru and Chainsaw Man, is likely reaching its most intense point. The latest chapter, 228, titled “Dove,” hints that Yoru might be defeated, introducing a surprising development that seems to bring the long battle closer to an end.
Denji tries to get away from the War Devil, but Yoru pursues him on her motorcycle, ultimately crashing and sustaining a deadly injury. It’s then revealed that her deal with the Americans only shielded her from external attacks, not from self-inflicted wounds. Because the name “Dove” is often associated with peace, many fans think this chapter marks the end of the long and intense battle, which has been filled with constant action and very little conversation in recent installments.
Now that the current conflict appears to be wrapping up, the story is moving towards expanding its background and revealing what happens to the characters Asa and Yoru. While Asa could become an ally for Denji, this might signal the end of Part 2. However, according to comments from the editor, it’s also possible that Part 2 is ending, but the entire series isn’t over yet. This would allow any remaining questions to be answered in a potential Part 3, which could be the final part of Chainsaw Man.
