Anime is becoming increasingly popular worldwide and is now a major form of entertainment. While Crunchyroll is the biggest place to find anime shows and movies, Netflix also offers a lot of interesting options. Most original anime series stand out with their unique stories, settings, and animation styles. However, these creative shows often don’t get the attention they deserve because of a lack of effective promotion. The Spring 2026 anime season has arrived, bringing new series to Netflix in April and May. Sadly, along with these new releases, some beloved anime shows will be ending this year.
I noticed that Netflix is removing a lot of its original content – over 100 titles, actually. It’s a shame because some really good anime are going with it. For example, Sirius the Jaeger disappeared on April 6th, 2026, and since Netflix was the only place to stream it legally, it’s no longer available. It was made by P.A. Works and came out in 2018. Even though it had everything fans wanted in a dark fantasy, it didn’t get enough viewers to warrant a second season, so it wasn’t renewed.
What Is Sirius the Jaeger About?

The story takes place in the 1930s and follows Yuliy, a young werewolf, as he journeys to Japan with a vampire hunting team called the Jaegers. Driven by a family tragedy, Yuliy is determined to eliminate all vampires, and his latest hunt leads him to Japan, where vampires are secretly causing trouble. These vampires are hiding among humans, and they’re searching for a legendary artifact called the “Ark of Sirius”—a powerful gift given to Yuliy’s ancestors that promises great power to whoever finds it.
I watched this anime about a man named Yuliy who lost everything – his home, his family – to vampires driven by a lust for power. Now, he’s on a quest for revenge, and it’s just getting started. As he hunts them down, he starts to learn shocking things about his own history and a powerful, ancient artifact. The story ends without resolving everything, leaving you with a lot of questions, but honestly, the journey was worth it. The animation was beautiful, the characters were compelling, and the build-up to the climax was fantastic.
Shows often disappear from streaming services when the agreements to show them run out. Netflix, like other platforms, also sometimes removes less popular titles to save money and keep the library manageable. While they might renew a license, it’s hard to predict if a show that didn’t gain much traction will come back. In this case, because the anime was only available on Netflix, there’s currently no way to watch it legally online.
