Following the news that “Ultimate Spider-Man” by Hickman and Checchetto is concluding in December, fans are expressing their disappointment. This popular series has been cherished by many, leading some to speculate that Marvel might be planning a new number one issue soon, using the end as a platform for this potential launch. Although no official announcements have been made yet, fans are also brainstorming about which villains they’d like to see in future issues of Ultimate Spider-Man. So far, the run has been amazing, but only a limited number of villains have appeared in the series, prompting fans to ask for more. The wishlist is fairly moderate, requesting some classic villains and perhaps a few lesser-known ones as well, without asking for any major characters.
In a simpler and more conversational style, here’s how you might rephrase the given text:
1. Here’s a list of eight villains that would be exciting to see in Ultimate Spider-Man.
2. Although the story is officially finished by December, there’s one thing we can all agree on – it seems like Paul Rabin has somehow played a part in it.
1) Vulture
Vulture, a character dating back as far as issue 2 of The Amazing Spider-Man, boasts a lengthy connection with the Web-slinger. Proficient in flight technology and teetering precariously on the brink of death, it’s surprising he hasn’t made an appearance yet. It remains unclear what role he might play, but considering the alterations Ultimate Spider-Man has been making to classic characters, it’s unlikely Adrian Toomes will be the one portraying him.
Instead of sticking with the traditional Ultimate Spider-Man version, let’s switch things up a bit by introducing Raniero Drago’s Vulture. This change will offer a fresh perspective. Given the numerous alterations in the title, this wouldn’t be surprising. Moreover, it would be fascinating to see Checchetto’s unique portrayal of Vulture – his artistry would undoubtedly make Vulture look magnificent.
2) Electro
Even though The Amazing Spider-Man 2 didn’t particularly help Electro, he remains one of Spidey’s top adversaries. Equipped with powers to generate and control electricity and lightning, Electro is an exciting character that could enliven this story. Frankly, I find it surprising that we haven’t encountered him in the title up until now.
If Peter had kept his nanotech suit, it would have been exciting to see Electro tamper with it in a fight. This scenario, though unrealized, presents an intriguing possibility. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get to witness this confrontation, but the thought of it is quite entertaining. As for Peter, we hope he becomes part of Ultimate Spider-Man, regardless of whether he retains his original blue color or not (and certainly not as Red Skull’s son.)
3) Chameleon
Keeping Kraven present in the story, we’re optimistic about introducing Chameleon too. This version might take on the ability to change shape, but that wouldn’t necessarily be a drawback. The concept of a mimic causing trouble within a Spider-Man narrative is a classic tale, and it would be exciting to see it unfold here. However, we should avoid any confusion where Richard is mistaken for Peter.
Since the fate of his brother is uncertain, there’s a chance we might encounter Chameleon again in the future. A playful twist could be to bestow him with some abilities similar to Kraven. There are certainly numerous intriguing possibilities for reinventing this villain in the style of Ultimate Spider-Man!
4) Rhino
In a turn of events that sadly mirrors many cinematic missteps, Rhino bursts onto our list with all the flair of the Kool-Aid Man. He sported an impressive redesign in the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man and even appeared as various mutant hybrids. This time, I can’t help but hope for a challenging encounter between him and Peter. Despite his beastly appearance that one might expect, I’m eager to see Rhino cause some trouble for our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
For a long time, Rhino has been one of Spider-Man’s most eccentric antagonists, and despite not entirely understanding why, he somehow fits perfectly in his rogues gallery. A fresh interpretation of this character could potentially add an intriguing twist to the storyline.
5) Scorpion
In a different twist, unlike the Rhino who is typically a beastly fusion, Scorpion has always been more of a tech-driven villain and a delight to watch on screen. His early ties with Jameson could potentially be replaced by other relationships in this version. Scorpion, as portrayed by Mac Gargan, has been notably absent from Ultimate Spider-Man, and his return would certainly be welcomed.
As a cinephile, the intriguing aspect of this upcoming Spider-Man film lies in delving deeper into the character we know as the Vulture. Rather than a menacing force, perhaps he’s just a common thief with an interesting backstory to be unraveled. After all, if it ain’t broke, why fix it?
One aspect I am particularly keen on is witnessing his unique brand of weaponry – the Vulture’s venomous stinger. It would be fascinating to see how this deadly tool is employed in this new setting.
6) Hobgoblin
Despite always being one of Peter’s most formidable adversaries, even amidst the backstage drama, Hobgoblin is another beloved enemy of Spider-Man by fans. Given Harry Osborn’s storyline here, this version of Hobgoblin may differ significantly. This difference could lead to a scenario where he is a copycat villain who ultimately finds himself compelled to transform.
It could add an intriguing twist to portray the character as fully malevolent, since Harry hasn’t turned evil yet. In this narrative, including at least one evil goblin character would certainly enhance the conflict with the Spider. We only ask that you avoid making him a Ned Leeds character; the reception to that idea in the past has been negative and it remains a sensitive topic among fans.
7) Carnage
Although Eddie Brock currently possesses the symbiote, it would be exciting to introduce Carnage in the “Ultimate Spider-Man” series. Since symbiotes can take on different forms across universes, he might have a suit similar to Spider-Man’s, but anything could happen.
Currently, it’s uncertain if we’ll see additional symbiotes, but given the situation, Carnage appears to be a strong contender for the next one. However, if Toxin or Anti-Venom are introduced before him, Carnage might not be the immediate pick. Instead, he seems like the most likely candidate for the role.
8) Tombstone
Regardless of the displeasure that ardent fans of “The Amazing Spider-Man” may feel about this positioning, it’s undeniable that Tombstone is enjoying unprecedented popularity at present. Despite the chaotic narrative unfolding during Zeb Wells’ tenure on “The Amazing Spider-Man”, one aspect he handled commendably was his portrayal of Tombstone. Admittedly, the ending left much to be desired, but overall, he successfully maintained an aura of terror and ruthlessness throughout most of the storyline.
In the world of Ultimate Spider-Man, it’s possible that Tombstone, a potential mutant, could make an ideal antagonist for Kingpin who currently seems to lack rivals in this reality. This opens up a chance for an exciting development. If they were to engage in a fight with 6160 Peter Parker, it would certainly be a spectacle worth watching.
