Over the past sixty years, Spider-Man has worn many memorable costumes. The original red and blue suit is the one most people recognize, having debuted in 1962. Other popular looks, like the black symbiote suit, have also become fan favorites. And that’s not even counting the outfits worn by Spider-Man variations like Miles Morales and other members of the Spider-family!
Every time a new Spider-Man story, series, or game comes out, it usually features a unique costume that helps fans instantly recognize which version they’re looking at. For Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man games, that costume is Peter Parker’s Advanced Suit. It’s become incredibly popular since it first appeared in 2018 and has even been featured in other Spider-Man media.
Marvel’s Spider-Man’s Advanced Suit is Revelatory
In Marvel’s Spider-Man, Peter switches to the Advanced Suit relatively early in the game after his original suit gets damaged in a battle with Kingpin. What’s great about this new suit is that it’s a unique creation by the game developers, but its design cleverly nods to classic Spider-Man looks.
The new white spider emblem on the suit recalls the iconic design from Spider-Man’s classic black suit, but it’s unique and doesn’t extend onto his back. It also shares similarities with the Spider-Man 2099 suit, especially in the simpler, mostly blue lower half, which lacks the traditional red boots.
The popular Advanced Suit from Marvel’s Spider-Man was redesigned and improved for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, becoming the Advanced 2.0 suit, while still keeping its iconic look. It’s become one of the most recognizable Spider-Man suits in recent years, appearing in comics, movies, and other media.
It’s the Suit of a New Spider-Man Generation
I have to say, it really speaks volumes about how much people adore Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man games that the Advanced Suit pops up everywhere. Seriously, it’s been featured or even just briefly shown in a ton of places – and often when you least expect it. Here’s a rundown of where I’ve spotted it…
- Marvel’s Spider-Man
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Marvel Rivals
- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
- Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
- Astro Bot
- Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
We don’t know how long the popular Advanced Suit will remain available, but it’s great to see how much of a fan favorite the PlayStation Spider-Man has become, especially as the Marvel Cinematic Universe prepares to release its biggest Spider-Man film since Spider-Man: No Way Home.
