This squad-based tactical first-person shooter is set in an alternate 1983, where the Cold War escalates into a full-scale conflict. The introduction video offers players a sneak peek before the Steam Early Access release, which is scheduled later this year.
A Tactical “What If” Battlefield
’83’ is a game that follows in the footsteps of Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, developed by several team members from the same group.
In this game, the weapons have been designed to mimic their real-world behavior in terms of ballistics, penetration, recoil, and handling. The equipment, clothing, and vehicles are also historically accurate, contributing to a more genuine gaming experience.
Accessible Realism
83, developed by Blue Dot Games, is centered around the concept of “approachable realism.” The developers strive for a high level of realism while ensuring the game remains enjoyable. Each match typically spans 30 to 40 minutes. Death briefly removes you from play, but this temporary absence can significantly impact the course of the fight.

Since then, they’ve reimagined the project with a new creative outlook and modernized technical approach.
