After a nine-year break, the popular animated series Regular Show is coming back with a new revival! A recent trailer gives fans a first look at what’s in store. This return is part of a larger trend at Cartoon Network, which has been bringing back many of its classic shows with new content for streaming or television. Fans have really embraced this wave of nostalgia, and they’re especially excited to see Regular Show return almost a decade after it originally ended.
Back in 2024, the creators of the popular Cartoon Network show, Regular Show, announced they were bringing it back with a new series. They’ve been keeping details under wraps until recently, when they finally revealed the title: Regular Show: The Lost Tapes. Fans had been speculating about the revival for months, and now we have our first official look at what’s in store!
When Does Regular Show: Lost Tapes Come Out?

The new series, originally titled Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, will premiere worldwide on Cartoon Network on May 11th. Regular Show is special because it’s one of the few Cartoon Network shows that had a true series finale with a complete story. The finale jumped forward in time to show Mordecai and Rigby’s lives after leaving the park, and some fans worried this new revival might undo that ending.
William Salyers, the voice actor for Rigby, shared his initial concerns about the new Regular Show revival, but hinted that fans shouldn’t worry. He explained that he didn’t want to diminish what he considered a perfect series finale. Salyers felt the original actors had ended the show brilliantly and hoped the revival wouldn’t undo that. He added that, as far as he knows, it won’t, and the show’s summary seems to support that.
What Is Regular Show’s New Revival About?
“Regular Show: The Lost Tapes” likely refers to the show’s ending, where it was revealed the whole series was a VHS tape being watched by a mysterious being. The title suggests these will be new adventures taking place within the original timeline, a hint also present in the finale. It promises to showcase the most memorable and funny moments from Regular Show, including battles with the Moon Monster and pranks on Benson, allowing viewers to relive their favorite scenes with Mordecai, Rigby, and the rest of the park crew.
I’m so excited! The team behind Regular Show is giving us a sneak peek at the revival during a Q&A with J.G. Quintel at WonderCon 2026 on March 27th. Hopefully, that means we’ll get a much clearer picture of how they’re bringing this awesome Cartoon Network show back soon!
