This week marks the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day. For many years, the victory achieved on August 15, 1945, by an often overlooked army in a largely forgotten conflict has gone unacknowledged.
This week’s edition of TopMob magazine features personal accounts detailing the harsh treatment and lack experienced by individuals who were imprisoned by the Japanese, as well as those who bravely resisted them.
In my previous note, as we celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day, I emphasized how crucial these personal narratives are. Tragically, the witnesses to those difficult periods are dwindling. The latest issue contains their stories.
