Brock Lesnar is bringing the pain once more.
In the summer of 2025, after a break of two years, the seven-time world champion astonished fans at SummerSlam held in New Jersey on August 3 by taking on his longstanding rival, John Cena, in the wrestling ring once more.
The WWE made considerable efforts to ensure Lesnar’s arrival was completely unexpected, even for many people involved in the event itself.
On August 2nd, as reported by Fightful, confirmed by Newsweek, the person known as “The Beast Incarnate” arrived at Teterboro airport, a smaller facility. This choice of airport was presumably made to minimize attention. The 48-year-old individual was then discreetly moved around during the day to ensure he remained unseen by chance onlookers.
It was kept a secret within WWE that he would be involved in the SummerSlam finale. The report indicated that the company even called off their post-show press conference to avoid any information leaking out.
Fortunately, everything unfolded as expected when Lesnar stepped into the ring, met with deafening cheers. The unexpected event transpired while Cena, who has announced his retirement from WWE performances by year-end, was alone, reflecting after losing to Cody Rhodes.
As the tune “Next Big Thing” began to play, the crowd could be heard cheering “Thank you, Cena,” in appreciation.
Even though Cena lost, Lesnar didn’t show any compassion, instead executing his signature “F-5” finishing move on Cena to close the event.
Lesnar was ruthless in his victory over Cena, using his “F-5” finisher to wrap up the show, despite Cena losing.
Or simply: Lesnar didn’t spare Cena after their match, instead finishing him off with his “F-5” move to close the event, even though Cena lost.
Following the face-off, fans were overjoyed to have the WWE icon back in the ring.
“One user commented on an August 3rd Instagram post from the WWE, saying, ‘I startled my parents with loud yells.’ Another expressed, ‘WWE, you’ve won my affection once more.’
Another fan added, “I SCREAMED SO LOUD I THINK I WENT DEAF.”
A fervent fan, commonly recognized as “Brock Lesnar Guy” due to his exuberant response to Lesnar’s WWE comeback in 2012, posted a video on Instagram expressing his joy at the latest return, enthusiastically writing, “WE’RE DEFINITELY BACK!!!!!!!
Lesnar’s last SummerSlam appearance was in 2023, when he also lost to Rhodes during their matchup.
