As a dedicated Borderlands gamer, I’ve got to say that Rafo stands out among the Soldier characters, thanks to his unique mix of abilities. But what really catches my eye is his collection of cosmetics – it’s like a whole different side to him! If Vex’s looks perfectly fit her “Dark Siren” persona, then Rafo offers some intriguing alternatives and thought-provoking questions like, “What if he had a different look?” Take a peek at his outfits and hairstyles below.
Max Davenport, the associate art director, shares that the creative team considered diverse alternatives for the Exo-Soldier had events taken a different course. Some of these ideas encompassed a blindfold, as well as Tediore costumes featuring larger helmets that fully conceal his head.
Players of “New Tales from the Borderlands” might come across attire reminiscent of the Tediore Army. Certain costumes transform Rafa into an uncanny likeness of “Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s” Adam Jensen, even featuring a mask-like bandana that adds a gunslinger touch to his appearance.
The highly anticipated game Borderlands 4 has now been finalized for release and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC starting September 12th. For Nintendo Switch players, your wait ends on October 3rd. Until then, take a look at Rafa’s abilities and design philosophy to get a sneak peek!
