A fresh collaboration between Batman, Green Arrow, and The Question (Vic Sage) is coming soon under DC’s Black Label imprint. Titled “Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia“, this gripping four-issue series will be penned by writer and artist Gabriel Hardman, drawing inspiration from the thrilling comic books of the 1980s. The artwork for one of the comics’ covers will feature pieces from two renowned storytellers in the industry, originally presented as a poster back in 1988.
For November, there’s a special edition of the comic book “Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia” #1 featuring artwork by the acclaimed team Denys Cowan and Bill Sienkiewicz. This duo previously showcased their talents on a promotional poster for DC Comics in 1988, advertising the crossover event “Fables” which included issues of “Detective Comics Annual” #1, “Green Arrow Annual” #1, and “The Question Annual” #1. Notably, this “Fables” cover has never been used as a variant cover until now. The Cowan and Sienkiewicz variant will be available in standard paperback and foil versions without the usual trade dress.
Last week, details for the upcoming comic book series titled Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia, originally scheduled for release in June 2026, unexpectedly leaked online. However, it was announced that the comic will now be available in stores on November 26th, 2025. The leak included plot details and a sneak peek at the interior pages and covers. This exciting series is being crafted by Hardman as writer, penciller, and ink artist, with Romulo Fajardo Jr. handling the colors and Simon Bowland taking care of the lettering.
DC’s Black Label series brings together three of its most philosophically diverse heroes in a grand tale with worldwide implications and personal introspection. As Bruce Wayne forges a fragile alliance with a visionary billionaire focused on climate solutions, Batman starts to ponder the real intent behind Arcadia – a city built on water, engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions, being developed off the coast of Greenland. Simultaneously, Green Arrow and The Question delve into the sinister truths shrouded beneath Arcadia’s utopian veneer.
Gabriel Hardman expressed his long-held desire to tell a story involving Batman, Green Arrow, and the Question. At 14 years old, he couldn’t contain his excitement about finally getting the opportunity to do so. Although he draws inspiration from the exceptional work of Denny O’Neil, Denys Cowan, and Mike Grell, this series isn’t a trip down memory lane. Instead, Hardman plans to build upon the gritty, realistic approach they pioneered in the late 80s, having these three complex, strong-willed characters tackle a modern form of worldwide criminality.
In the ruins of Hub City, known as Arcadia, Vic Sage, alias the Question, delves into an undercover mission, tracking down a human-trafficking ring in the frigid Arctic. After being ousted from his own company’s executive suite, Oliver Queen, also known as Green Arrow, struggles to piece together his shattered life…yet, Arcadia seems to be connected to a secretive venture of Queen Industries. Driven by the Question’s persistence, Green Arrow embarks on this quest for truth…however, their investigation encounters an impediment: the Batman.
In the story of Batman, Green Arrow, and The Question titled “Arcadia,” the narrative will challenge readers with thought-provoking questions: What persists when justice falters? Who stands firm against corruption’s grasp? And who suffers when morality is misused as a tool?
