Kodansha and developer tokoronyoi have launched the two-player puzzle-action-adventure game “BOKURA: planet” on Nintendo Switch 2 and original Switch systems, as they’ve recently announced.
BOKURA: planet first launched for PC via Steam on April 24.
In Japan, it was revealed that publishing company Kodansha intends to launch a combined physical edition of the series ‘BOKURA: planet’ and its prequel ‘BOKURA’, priced at 4,620 yen, on November 20th.
Here is an overview of the game, via Kodansha:
In the game “BOKURA: Planet,” it’s essential that two individuals engage on separate devices. This cooperative puzzle-adventure game demands teamwork and communication as players collaborate to unravel the intricate puzzles. A fresh narrative arises in the updated setting of “BOKURA: Planet.” Additional actions and brainteasers will also be incorporated into the experience.
Progress Through Stages Through Two-Player Cooperation and Puzzle-Solving
In this two-player puzzle adventure game, known as BOKURA, both players need separate machines to interact and engage with the planet.
In the cooperative game of BOKURA: planet, players must communicate their observations and collaborate to solve the stages’ puzzles. However, an exciting new “push” action has been incorporated into the gameplay experience. This allows one player to propel the other, adding a dynamic element to the game as they navigate together!
…meaning that players can knock each other off ledges when necessary for space, and cooperation may not suffice on its own. This time, they need to collaborate while also being aware and cautious about potential conflict situations.
Story
As a survivor, I found myself in a world that had been reverted back to its primal state – the Stone Age. Amidst the ruins of what once was, a handful of us banded together to start anew and build a new civilization from scratch.
In time, they managed to embark on a voyage through the cosmos, with their goal being to explore distant worlds.
Instead, traveling to those distant planets from Earth would require many centuries due to their significant distances.
Therefore, those condemned to death row were chosen to carry out the investigation.
On the journey, the research ship breaks down and two crew members must make an emergency escape.
Upon an unexpected landing on a yet-unidentified crimson world, they find themselves in a situation where each has personal motives that compel them to retrace their steps back to Earth.
Will they be able to return safely?

Message from the Creator
BOKURA: planet is based on ideas from the planning stages of BOKURA.
In that moment, I managed to develop thoughts that contrasted with BOKURA, however, I opted to balance multiple concepts to formulate BOKURA.
At the time, I was able to come up with ideas that went against BOKURA, but I decided to harmonize different ideas to produce BOKURA.
Or simply: During that period, I could generate thoughts opposing BOKURA, yet I chose to combine various ideas and create BOKURA.
With a mix of certainty and curiosity, I made the choice that felt right, but I found myself frequently pondering about alternate paths, especially those connected to other ideas. The uncertainty became unbearable at times, and so, I decided to put my thoughts into action and developed BOKURA: a planetary concept. To my delight, it has turned out splendidly.
