This Iconic ARPG Sequel Is Having a Very Successful Early Access on Steam

By August 5, 2025, Titan Quest 2 had sold more than 300,000 copies and continues to gain momentum with no signs of slowing down following its Early Access release on Steam. The game has received both critical and popular praise, fueling a strong word-of-mouth that propels it towards success.

Titan Quest 2 is the sequel to the Action Role-Playing Game (ARPG) originally developed by Iron Lore Entertainment and published by THQ on June 26, 2006. The original Titan Quest gained popularity due to its innovative dual mastery system that allowed players to mix two classes into unique builds and its visually stunning setting, which seamlessly blended the mythologies of Ancient Greece, Egypt, and China into an action-packed hack-and-slash adventure.

In a similar fashion to its precursor, Titan Quest 2 transports players into an imagined Ancient Greek setting, where they encounter the Goddess of Retribution, Nemesis. The adventure begins on Proti Island, acting as a tutorial zone, before expanding fully in Pyrgos. Currently, the Early Access for Titan Quest 2 offers only one Act, yet it permits players to advance up to Level 40 with two out of four available Masteries (Rogue, Warfare, Storm, and Earth).

Titan Quest 2 Has Sold Over 300,000 Copies In Its First 72 Hours

As a gamer, I can’t help but feel thrilled about the massive success of Titan Quest 2. Just three days into its Early Access launch, THQ Nordic announced that it had sold over 300,000 copies, skyrocketing to the number one spot on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. And guess what? The excitement hasn’t died down even a week later! Despite Early Access only offering around 9 to 15 hours of story content, Titan Quest 2 has managed to keep half of its peak concurrent player count – that’s impressive, isn’t it?

Even though the game might not take long to complete, it’s a delightful change from the usual grind in Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4. It’s safe to say that Titan Quest 2 has certainly made its mark in the ARPG genre!

Unlike games like “Path of Exile 2” and “Diablo 4,” which place a strong focus on seasonal content, Grimlore Games is mainly dedicated to crafting a high-quality single-player experience that can also be enjoyed cooperatively. The creators have guaranteed that “Titan Quest 2” will not incorporate microtransactions but instead rely on DLCs and expansion packs for support. Although multiplayer isn’t available yet in “Titan Quest 2,” Grimlore Games has pledged to develop and introduce the multiplayer aspect during its Early Access phase.

In the Roadmap, it is guaranteed that a significant Early Access update will introduce refined character creation, followed by a new Mastery feature in Titan Quest 2. Although the complete game isn’t expected until late 2026, its progress during Early Access indicates a promising future for its full release, which will also allow Xbox and PlayStation gamers to join in on the action.
