The showrunner for “My Adventures with Superman” has recently announced that the post-production process for Season 3 is complete, hinting at another exciting outing featuring one of the best animated versions of Superman. Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Green Lantern Corps would be returning to animation, leading to a spin-off series on Adult Swim alongside Superman. While nothing’s been officially confirmed yet, there have been whispers about the details for “My Adventures with Green Lantern” and which comic book characters might make an appearance.
According to a recent article from Next Point News, a new series titled “My Adventures With Green Lantern” is set to focus on Jessica Cruz, a young Earth-bound member of the Corps who joined the team after Hal Jordan, Jon Stewart, Guy Gardner, and Kyle Rayner. Unlike her comic book counterpart, who is an adult in the DC Universe, this version of Jessica will be a high school student around 14 to 15 years old. The series also features Kyle Rayner, who may develop romantic interests in Jessica, although it remains unclear if he’ll receive his own ring.
In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night
In My Adventures With Green Lantern, it appears that Jessica and Kyle won’t be the sole comic book figures at the helm. Additionally, Nikki Jones – a lesser-known character endowed with superpowers by Lex Luthor – is expected to join the cast. Alongside Nikki’s arrival, the animated series will introduce Alex DeWitt, a character who holds significance as the late girlfriend of Kyle Rayner, tragically killed by Major Force early in his career. However, it’s important to note that other Green Lantern characters may also make appearances.
In the upcoming comic series titled “My Adventures With Green Lantern“, it’s rumored that Kilowog-known for his stern teaching style within the Green Lantern Corps-will serve as Jessica’s instructor. This aligns well with Kilowog’s established role in the comics. As of now, a specific release date for the series has yet to be announced. However, given the DCU’s growth this summer, especially with Superman, many enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting its arrival.
As an avid fan, I’ve got some exciting news for fellow enthusiasts! Back in the second season of “My Adventures with Superman,” a Green Lantern made an appearance, even before he officially graced the comic book pages! In a thrilling battle against Braniac, various captured aliens were unleashed to challenge the Man of Steel. Among them was none other than a Green Lantern! Now, this intergalactic guardian wasn’t explicitly identified as a comics character at that time, but “My Adventures with Superman” has certainly given us a glimpse into the expansive DC Universe within the Adult Swim series.
