Are fans…ready for it?
As I sat down with Travis and Jason Kelce for their New Heights show, I couldn’t help but share some exciting news – my forthcoming 12th album, Life of a Showgirl, has been greatly influenced by the electrifying experience of planning and performing my record-breaking Eras Tour.
As a devoted follower, I’d express it like this: “During the podcast, Taylor shared that this album delves into the private, introspective moments of her life that unfolded during the tour. She described these periods as filled with an energetic, lively, and vivid intensity.
In contrast to describing her earlier album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” as a “collection of thoughts, feelings, and experiences accumulated over two or three years,” she explained that her upcoming album, “Life of a Showgirl,” will contain just 12 songs and is brimming with “exciting hits.
This energy originates from a remarkably joyful, unbridled, and passionate period in my life,” Taylor explained further. “Consequently, the excitement of that time is evident within this album.
Regarding further details about the “Anti-Hero” singer’s upcoming release, it appears that she has hinted at several aspects. The forthcoming album, which is being produced by Taylor herself along with her mentors Max Martin and Shellback, is scheduled to be released on October 3rd. The title track of this album will feature a duet with her friend Sabrina Carpenter. Additionally, the rest of the tracklist includes songs such as “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Opalite,” “Father Figure,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Ruin the Friendship,” “Actually Romantic,” “Wi$h Li$t,” “Wood,” “Cancelled!,” and “Honey.
Taylor mentioned that they hadn’t created an album solely by the trio before, which includes Max and Shellback, who have previously crafted hits like “Blank Space” and “Delicate” for her. She described the process as capturing lightening in a jar, meaning it felt very special or extraordinary.
During my concert in Stockholm, Max Martin attended and afterwards, we had a chat. I mentioned to him, “I think we could really shine if we revisit it,” she continued, humorously saying, “In essence, I expressed my desire for an album that I can be as proud of as the Eras Tour, and he responded, ‘Are you aware of the amount of pressure that implies?’
By December 2024, the “Anti-Hero” singer concluded her highly successful The Eras Tour. In May 2025, following a prolonged struggle, she regained ownership of the master recordings for her first six albums.
In truth, expressing this as my greatest dream realized doesn’t quite capture the depth of my feelings,” Taylor expressed in a letter on her website, announcing the news. “To my fans, you understand how significant this has been for me – it was so important that I painstakingly re-recorded and released four of my albums, labeling them as Taylor’s Versions. The fervor you demonstrated towards those albums and the success you helped create with The Eras Tour enabled me to regain ownership of my music.
Taylor expressed his gratitude by saying, “I really can’t express how much your help means to me in returning the art that has been a lifelong passion of mine. However, until now, I hadn’t had the opportunity to own it myself.

Initial whispers about a potential new Taylor album arose when it became known that she was set to appear on their August 13th episode, as hinted by the announcement of “New Heights.
Taylor complimented Travis on his stylish baby blue cut-off sweatshirt in a social media preview, to which Travis replied, “Thank you, it’s because this color reminds me of your beautiful eyes, sweetheart. That’s why we complement each other so well.
The singer-songwriter excitedly added, “We’re about to do a f–king podcast!”
Following the publication of the preview, a countdown clock in shades of orange and mint green emerged on Taylor’s website, counting down to another sneak peek of her appearance on New Heights, which was shared on social media at 12:12am ET on August 12.
As an over-the-moon fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when Taylor playfully hinted to the camera, revealing a stunning mint green briefcase with “T.S.” boldly inscribed in orange. And what lay within? My heart skipped a beat as she unveiled her latest masterpiece, none other than her brand new album, titled “The Life of a Showgirl“. I just couldn’t wait to dive into the musical journey that awaited me!
It’s been more than a year since Taylor’s last album, The Tortured Poets Department, was released, but she’s definitely remained active.
By December 2024, the “Anti-Hero” singer concluded her incredibly successful The Eras Tour. In May 2025, following a prolonged struggle, she regained ownership of the master recordings for her initial six albums.
Taylor expressed in a letter on her website that the realization of this dream she’s been talking about is actually an understatement. To her fans, they know how meaningful this has been for her – so much so that she painstakingly re-recorded and released four of her albums, naming them ‘Taylor’s Version.’ The fervent enthusiasm you showed towards those albums and the incredible success story you created with The Eras Tour were crucial in helping her purchase back her music.
Taylor expressed his gratitude by saying, “I truly appreciate your assistance in returning the art that has been a lifelong passion of mine. Interestingly, I didn’t own it until now.

Taylor Swift penned every single song on the “Speak Now” album alone. There were no collaborators involved; it was solely her work. This album was unveiled in October 2010, a time when Taylor herself was only 20 years old.
Growing up amidst towering evergreens on a Christmas tree farm in the heart of Pennsylvania was my childhood, a memory I vividly reference in my own holiday tune bearing its very name.
3. She’s named after James Taylor. That’s right, from one music legend to another.
I, a die-hard fan here, can’t help but gush over the fact that even Taylor Swift walked the runway for Abercrombie & Fitch back in 2003, joining the likes of Channing Tatum, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Roberts, and Ashton Kutcher, who were all once the faces of this iconic brand. It’s just another reason why I adore her even more!
5. In 2006, she presented Eric Church with his first golden record as a token of gratitude. Following Church’s dismissal from the band, she invited him to join Rascal Flatts on their tour. As Church recounted to the Arizona Daily Star, “She called me after I got fired. I read in the paper that we were fired. She called and said ‘I want you to know that I love what you do.'” Jokingly, he told her, “This is your crowd; they’re going to love you. You’re going to owe me your first gold record.” However, when she eventually received her first gold record, she humorously honored his jest by giving him one, along with a note that read, “Thanks for playing too long and too loud on the Flatts tour. I sincerely appreciate it. Taylor.
6. She possesses flexible elbows that bend beyond normal limits. During her 2016 Vogue 73 questions video, Taylor mentioned an unusual ability she has. When asked about any “extraordinary or peculiar” skills, she replied, “Well, I’m fully conscious of the fact that this is not a skill, but this is the only thing I can do. I have double-jointed elbows.
7. Her drink of choice? Vodka and Diet Coke, as revealed in that same Vogue video.
8. She chose to disable commenting on her social media accounts to “mute some of the disturbance.” In her article for Elle titled “30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30, Taylor revealed, “social media can be beneficial, but it can also flood your mind with pictures suggesting what you’re not, how you’re falling short, or who is in a more appealing location than you at any given time. One strategy I employ to reduce this bothersome sense of insecurity is to disable comments. Indeed, I elect to have comments turned off on my posts. By doing so, I share updates about my life with my friends and followers, but I’m teaching my brain not to crave the validation from someone telling me that I look fantastic.
9. Initially, Taylor had planned to title her seventh studio album “Daylight.” However, considering it was a continuation of her previous album titled “reputation, she felt “Daylight” might be too obvious a choice. Upon composing the song “Lover,” Taylor then decided that would make a fitting name for the album instead.
Taylor Swift became the youngest solo artist ever to claim the title of Album of the Year when she won it at age 20 in 2010 for her highly acclaimed album, “Fearless.
11. At the 2024 Grammys, Taylor Swift broke new ground, as she was the first female artist to secure a record-setting four Album of the Year awards (for ‘Fearless’, ‘1989’, ‘Folklore’, and ‘Midnights’).
In the initial months after its release, more than a million pure copies of the singer’s album titled “Lover” were sold in the US, as reported by Chart Data. This made it the first album in 2019 to achieve such a sales milestone.
13. Additional historic achievements! At the 2019 American Music Awards, Taylor outdid Michael Jackson’s record, making her the most honored artist in the history of the AMAs.
14. From an early age, Taylor had dreams of becoming a stockbroker, much like her father. However, her passion eventually led her to music instead. To pursue this new path, she and her family relocated from Pennsylvania to Tennessee at a later time.
At about 12 years old, she picked up playing the guitar having grasped a few chords from a tech specialist while he was repairing her computer. Subsequently, she penned her initial composition, titled “Lucky You.
16. Taylor is deeply enamored with Phoebe Waller-Bridge. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she expressed her admiration for Fleabag by saying, “She can make you laugh out loud, surprise you, and leave you emotional within a few short minutes in that show.” Notably, Taylor herself appeared on an SNL episode that Phoebe Waller-Bridge hosted!
In 2009, Taylor Swift composed a unique monologue for her performance on Saturday Night Live, an occurrence not common among celebrity guests. Impressively, she captivated the team with her “Monologue Song (La La La)”.
18. They’ve been best friends since their mutual connections with the Jonas Brothers, as Selena Gomez supported her friend during her return to Saturday Night Live in November 2021 for a performance of “All Too Well” (in case you missed it). In 2008, Taylor Swift had a relationship with Joe Jonas, while Gomez dated his younger brother Nick Jonas. They soon became close friends and have remained so ever since. Taylor Swift even offered to be the flower girl at Selena Gomez’s wedding to her fiancé Benny Blanco. (paraphrased)
19. You may recall the “redhead named Abigail” mentioned by Taylor in her song “Fifteen,” which speaks of their shared journey into adulthood. Interestingly enough, this Abigail Anderson is still very much a part of Taylor’s life, having served as one of her bridesmaids at her wedding in 2017.
20. She serves as a godmother for Jamie King’s son Leo Thames, as well as the daughters of her close friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds – James, Inez, and Betty.
21. Taylor stated that she might not perform her song “Soon You’ll Get Better,” a piece inspired by her mother’s cancer ordeal, due to its emotional impact on her. During an August 2019 Q&A session for a SiriusXM Town Hall special, she explained, “Writing it was tough, singing it is difficult, and even listening to it is hard for me. But sometimes music can be like that.
22. Taylor Swift doesn’t use Twitter on her phone anymore because she finds the news and gossip overwhelming. In an interview with Billboard, she stated, “I often open Twitter, get overloaded, and immediately close it. I haven’t had Twitter on my phone for a while due to not wanting too much information. I follow politics, but I prefer not to keep up with celebrity breakups or fashion trends because there’s only so much mental capacity I can handle.”
Taylor shared with Rolling Stone in September 2019 that she relies heavily on her mother for conversations, as her mother has been privy to all aspects of her life over the past 29 years, implying that Taylor might not have sought professional therapy.
24. As stated in an interview, her preferred lyrics from her “Lover” album are: “Gentlemen, would you kindly rise? / Each guitar string scar on my hand I use/To embrace the magnetic pull of this man as my beloved.
Taylor has become a billionaire! As per a report published by Bloomberg in October 2024, Taylor’s success in the industry spanning over a decade, particularly through her Eras Tour, propelled her to this wealth milestone.
26′. The 2019 Netflix movie, “Someone Great”, sparked Taylor’s musical creativity. She shared, “I cried watching the film. For nearly a week, I’d awaken from dreams where I was living out that story – as if it were happening to me.” During an interview with Elvis Duran, she explained this. “The characters’ interactions inspired lyrics for me, and I went into the studio with Jack Antonoff,” she continued. This session resulted in Taylor’s song, “Death By a Thousand Cuts.
27. She sets aside a specific spot for her most heartfelt songs. Ranging from “All Too Well” to “The Archer,” this celebrated artist typically places a ballad in the fifth position on her albums.
28. She’s moved past avoiding the limelight: In fact, she’s been openly cheering on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, at NFL games since 2023. As she put it to Time magazine, “When a relationship is public, that means I get to witness him doing what he loves, we support each other in front of others, and we don’t care who sees us.” The alternative, she explained, is going to great lengths to keep the relationship secret. But they’re just proud of each other instead.
