Taylor Swift Reveals Her “Granny S–t” Hobbies

Taylor Swift is providing insight into her life as a showgirl grandma. 

The singer famous for “Cruel Summer” playfully referred to her favorite pastimes as “traditional grandma activities,” sharing that she now enjoys crafting and baking since wrapping up her record-breaking Eras Tour and completing the recording of her upcoming album titled The Life of a Showgirl.

Taylor shared with Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce on their August 13th episode of the New Heights podcast that her interests could be traced back to the 1700s, as they primarily involve hobbies such as sewing children’s purses and baby blankets, painting, and cooking.

In fact, the 35-year-old said that she’s currently hooked on baking one food in particular.

As a passionate lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself captivated by a new baking endeavor approximately every half year. Currently, I find myself completely immersed in the world of sourdough, an obsession that has seamlessly woven itself into my daily routine.

The Grammy winner playfully remarked that she seems to be discussing bread topics around 60% of the time now. She then proceeded to mention various bread types she’s mastered, including blueberry lemon, cinnamon swirl, and cinnamon raisin loaves.

She’s additionally been focusing on developing another variety of sourdough for the daughters of Jason and Kylie Kelce – Wyatt (5 years old), Elliotte (4 years old), Bennett (2 years old), and Finnley (4 months old).

She mentioned that she’s been working on a special recipe for the girls who adore anything with a rainbow theme: Funfetti sourdough bread. She explained, “Since they can’t get enough of sprinkles. Whenever we spend time together, we add some sprinkles to everything.

Not only Jason’s children but also Benny Blanco and his fiancée Selena Gomez (who are good friends of Taylor) have been enjoying the fruits of Taylor’s baking passion. Recently, Benny Blanco himself disclosed that she sent a loaf to them.

Taylor shared that she frequently bakes bread and often messages her friends asking if they’d like some bread for feedback. She’d compare one loaf to another, asking which one they prefer since she’d altered the rise. Taylor recently discovered she’s part of a larger sourdough community online.

Additionally, Taylor had earlier sent her items to a 35-year-old Travis, who was attending training camp for the upcoming 2025 NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs. This act of kindness has evidently been much appreciated by the tight end.

During the episode, Travis expressed his gratitude by saying, “I feel like the most fortunate person in the world.” He added that he was fortunate to be working as much as he is and maintaining an active lifestyle because it allows him to consume enough calories. In simpler terms, he was preparing himself nutritionally by eating plenty of carbohydrates.

Despite not being part of the Eras Tour every night, Taylor still finds herself missing performing on stage a bit.

Taylor expressed that he did have fond memories of it, acknowledging it served its purpose well, despite the fact that it necessitated extensive physical therapy and constant discomfort.

She expressed that she’s experiencing a sense of longing, as she misses both the fans and the emotional bond they shared. It was truly extraordinary and marked the most significant period in her life’s development.

In the tale of their connection, Travis Kelce came onto Taylor Swift’s attention when he expressed his disappointment about not being able to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during an appearance at the July 2023 New Heights podcast episode of Eras Tour, held at Arrowhead Stadium.

During their initial date, the individual who won a Grammy confessed that they awkwardly stumbled when posing a question about football to the tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Taylor remembered that he truly inquired about his brother’s experience during the Super Bowl game between the Chiefs and the Eagles. As he looked over the field, there he was, his brother, just five feet away from him on the playing surface.

In the subsequent two years, Taylor came to understand that her query was rather absurd, given that the brothers never played together simultaneously due to their distinct roles on the team. However, Taylor mentioned that Travis showed great courtesy and patience in explaining the sport’s intricacies to her during their date.

As an ardent fan, I couldn’t help but feel a tinge of confusion when he mentioned, “You know, I’m playing offense alongside my brother, yet I’m only in the game when they’re on defense.” To me, it seemed like everyone was battling it out simultaneously on that field.

Taylor pointed out, “One significant trait of Travis is that he’s had the same circle of friends since around age four. He excels at nurturing friendships and is incredibly loyal, with his friends returning the loyalty in kind.

Later on, sharing a laugh with her friends in the NFL section at Arrowhead Stadium, she remarked, “They’re just the funniest and most entertaining bunch of individuals.

And Taylor’s game day behavior impressed Travis, too.

He jokingly asked, “Shall we discuss signs of a good relationship?” She made her debut at her first game, which was a Bears match, by simply walking in through the main entrance of the stadium using the general admission ticket.

The action promptly confirmed to him that she was eager to join Chiefs Kingdom: ‘I thought to myself, ‘She’s definitely on board. She’s game. She’s here for a good time.’

One aspect Taylor admires about her NFL player boyfriend is his non-judgmental attitude towards her limited understanding of football.

She shared with Travis, “You have such an open-minded attitude towards people, and it’s evident that you didn’t hold anything against me for not knowing the basics of your world.” She continued, “I was clueless about terms like ‘first down’ and ‘tight end’ in your realm.

As Travis expressed his gratitude for your full immersion into the world of football, Taylor pointed out that you didn’t just dip your toes in, but went all in.

“I became obsessed with it,” she said. “My friends were like, ‘Who body snatched you?'”

“Whatever Andy Reid says, we’re gonna stand by,” Taylor responded. “That’s what happened.”

It’s known that her father, Scott Swift, is a close acquaintance of the Kansas City Chiefs’ coach over a long period. As a result, Andy has attended her concerts for quite some time due to this connection.

Taylor pointed out that her father, being exceptionally sociable, was known as the most socially engaging individual ever born. She further shared that she’s always experienced a warm and pleasant atmosphere while communicating with Andy.

She said, “I wasn’t exactly sure about the sports he was playing, but it was clear to me that was my dad’s friend, Andy Reid.” She later discovered that he is a highly esteemed and legendary coach in the history of sports.

Taylor joked that all her pastimes are ones you might have had back in the 1700s. She enjoys sewing, particularly making children’s bags and infant blankets, she appreciates painting, and she takes pleasure in cooking as well.

Indeed, she openly confessed that her passion for baking changes every six months, and at the time of the recording, it was sourdough bread that had become her consuming interest, almost entirely occupying her during that period.

Taylor often finds herself making bread at home and sending messages to her friends saying, “Would you like some homemade bread?” She also spends time reading about sourdough online, discovering that there is a large group of people sharing the same passion as her, which she wasn’t aware of before.

She shared that she’s been developing a unique recipe specifically for the girls who adore all things colorful: Rainbow Sprinkle Sourdough, she called it. Since they enjoy sprinkles so much, we add them to various dishes when we get together.

In May of 2025, Taylor Swift finally secured the ownership rights to her initial six studio albums – Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989 and Reputation – following a long legal struggle.

Instead of involving lawyers and managers in a large group for negotiations prior to the deal with Shamrock Capital, the artist behind “Bad Blood” opted to have her mother Andrea Swift and brother Austin Swift take care of the discussions personally.

Taylor explained, with tears in their eyes, that they had shared with Shamrock every instance where we attempted to purchase [it], every occasion when the deal failed, every time we had made plans and devised strategies that seemed promising but ultimately fell apart just before completion.
