Jesse Metcalfe was desperately unaware of any on-set drama.

Without a doubt, the former star of “Desperate Housewives” claimed that he had been unaware of any reported friction among his co-stars such as Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan, Marcia Cross, and Teri Hatcher during his tenure on the ABC soap opera, where he played the role of the teenage gardener John Roland.

Jesse mentioned during a recent panel, as reported by People, that there were numerous stories about the drama among some of the lead females on set. He shared that he was largely unaware of it due to his excitement about being part of the show and being fully immersed in the moment.

Looking back, I can’t help but smile at the memory of myself, a 46-year-old, feeling nothing short of ecstatic just to be offered a role in my acting career.

He shared that last season, he went through the entire process for a pilot, but unfortunately didn’t secure any roles. However, towards the end of that same season, he auditioned for “Desperate Housewives”, which was being recast, and ended up getting the part.

He further explained, “I was simply going along with things, as that series had a profound impact on me. I was dealing with a lot and was just relishing the experience.

It seems that during the run of the popular ABC show, there was a lot of tension backstage, especially considering that Jesse was part of only four seasons, yet there were feuds throughout all eight.

Apart from earlier accounts of tension among the female cast members, Nicollette filed a $20 million lawsuit against producer Marc Cherry in 2010, not long after her character was written out of the series. The lawsuit claimed assault and battery, gender-based violence, and wrongful termination.

In a letter to the judge, Eva expressed her discomfort about working with a particular person, stating it was as painful as torture. However, one day, Felicity stepped in and put an end to the bullying, which had been causing Eva immense anxiety even though she never spoke of it to others.

For his part, Marc also seemed to reference the same difficult cast member in his own letter.

He mentioned that everyone made a genuine effort to be friendly towards her throughout the program, but it proved challenging. Matters only worsened from there.

Felicity had continued to greet a particular actress with a ‘good morning’, even though she expected no reply,” he went on. “I inquired about her persistence, and Felicity responded, ‘Merely because she chooses to be impolite doesn’t give her the power to stop me from being courteous.’
