It’s not often discussed, but World of Tanks has proven itself as one of the longest-lasting and successful free-to-play games out there, despite keeping a low profile.
While it might not boast the highest number of players, it has shown remarkable stability and consistency throughout its history.
Although the complete, high-fat version of the game isn’t available on consoles, the developer, Wargaming, has created a unique, self-contained title named World of Tanks: Heat, which is scheduled for release across all platforms.
This spin-off is a free-to-play, cross-platform competitive multiplayer game coming to PS5.

In the new version, we’re keeping the concept centered around large-scale tank battles with 10 versus 10 participants in Heat mode. However, our goal is to make it more dynamic and efficient, with an emphasis on speed and simplicity.
The game also incorporates features found in hero shooters, assigning special abilities to the vehicles you choose, along with their own distinctive weaponry.
The game extends itself by integrating hero shooter elements, allowing the vehicles you select to have character-specific skills, as well as unique weaponry.
You can select an Agent and a tank tailored to your preference, with certain agents excelling at long-range combat, while others are better equipped for close-quarter battles due to their increased armor.
In a fictional world post World War II, these tanks showcase exclusive designs that draw inspiration from real-life counterparts. You have the freedom to tailor and personalize them according to your preferences – this includes choosing aesthetics, weapons, and skills that best fit your gaming approach.
As a die-hard fan of World of Tanks, I’m super excited about the upcoming updates! They’re going to breathe new life into the game by incorporating some classic multiplayer modes we all love, like Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Conquest – but with a unique World of Tanks twist. So buckle up for an action-packed blend of deathmatch-style mayhem, as well as objective-based battles that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat!
This game doesn’t allow for any purchases that would influence the gameplay. Rather, it generates revenue through cosmetic items, battle passes, and time-saving features.
While a specific release date for World of Tanks: Heat hasn’t been announced yet, you can add it to your wishlist as it’s planned to launch simultaneously on all platforms.
