According to reports, Jack Thorne, the mastermind behind ‘Adolescence‘, expresses enthusiasm about collaborating once more with his team on a potential sequel, adopting the single episode structure again.
The creator, responsible for the upcoming David Tennant series ‘The Hack’ and collaborating on Sam Mendes’ Beatles films, stated that the team behind Adolescence isn’t finished perfecting their distinctive approach to production, which involved filming each episode in one continuous take and overcoming every logistical hurdle associated with this method.
Perhaps we’ll try a standalone performance again in the future, as long as we discover an effective approach for narrating that particular story.
Affirming a distinct difference from the narrative presented in Adolescence, he clarified, “Indeed, we’ve told the Miller story. However, there’s no intention of creating spin-offs related to it. We don’t foresee any such plans.

We’re keen on continuing our storytelling journey together and find this system quite appealing. Throughout our creative process, we’ve picked up valuable insights from it, and we’re eager to explore further and delve deeper if given the opportunity.
I can’t help but sing the praises of our exceptional Director of Photography, Matt Lewis. This man is a cinematic genius who has crafted an entirely new language for camera work. We’re eager to continue evolving this unique style, not just with Philip Barantini and Steven Graham, but with everyone on board – Warp, Netflix, and all the other brilliant minds involved in our project.

In the near future, Thorne is primarily focused on The TV Access Project, a venture he co-founded with creative individuals Genevieve Barr, Katie Player, and Holly Lubran. This project aims to enhance opportunities for deaf, disabled, and neurodiverse talents within the television industry.
Following its debut in 2022, TAP has instigated noticeable transformations within the industry. According to Thorne, what makes this particularly intriguing is that authors are now gaining more control over their narratives, such as the powerful tale of Billy Majors’s Reunion…
More and more, we’re giving opportunities to writers with disabilities, as well as showcasing their talents – a wonderful development that’s a significant part of the larger movement towards inclusivity and diversity.
Adolescence can be streamed on Netflix, which you can sign up for starting at £5.99 per month. Additionally, Netflix can be accessed on the Sky Glass and Virgin Media Stream platforms.
