In the early 2000s, Nickelodeon was home to an eccentric array of shows, such as “Angry Beavers,” “Rocko’s Modern Life,” and “Aaahh!!! Real Monsters.” The channel experimented with various concepts, resulting in some quite unusual outcomes. For instance, there was “Invader Zim,” an animated series about an irritating alien plotting global domination while masquerading as an elementary school student. Accompanied by his helpful sidekick Gir, Zim attempted to learn more about the human world without being discovered. The latest release from Funko highlights these characters from this television show that, given its enduring popularity, could easily be mistaken for a whimsical dream.
Currently, you can find Zim and Gir in stock at Entertainment Earth. They are expected to be available soon on Amazon and Hot Topic as well. Take a look at the latest Funko Pop releases of the week right here. Additionally, keep reading for our thoughts about the possible return of Invader Zim.

Invader Zim Revival?
Have you ever wished for a revival, remake, or continuation of Invader Zim? You’re not alone in feeling that way! I personally believe Invader Zim is an excellent candidate for a comeback. With its unique premise and abundant silly humor, it has the potential to captivate audiences who enjoy shows like Skibidi Toilet. In fact, Invader Zim was even listed as number 5 among short-lived animated series that deserve a revival by Comicbook’s Liz Wyatt. Her description reads, “this show quickly gained a dedicated fanbase due in part to the meme-worthy nature of the show. Created by Johnen Vasquez, it was well-received by viewers and critics, but unfortunately didn’t draw in the audience numbers Nickelodeon desired. Additionally, its more mature content may have contributed to its demise.” As you can see, the meme-worthy aspects of Invader Zim could certainly appeal to today’s Gen Alpha kids, making “DOOOOM” a phrase we might hear more frequently than ever before!
Regardless of the circumstances, it’s evident that the animated series “Invader Zim” has made a lasting impression on everyone who watched it. Despite being taken off air in 2006, Zim continues to thrive with new merchandise and Pop figures being released. If that’s not a sign of success, I’m not sure what is.
