■ About Early Access on October 9

From the fresh studio Chief Rebel, made up of industry veterans who’ve contributed to popular games like World of Warcraft, Diablo IV, Helldivers II, the Just Cause and Battlefield series among others, comes the innovative title, Fellowship. Excited about their debut game, Chief Rebel is preparing to launch Fellowship into Early Access within two months, giving players a taste of this one-of-a-kind and demanding yet accessible player-versus-environment dungeon crawling experience. The studio aims to engage the community more closely in the development process of the game. The upcoming Early Access launch signifies merely the start of Fellowship’s journey, as this new title will continue to grow and adapt with a wealth of additional content added throughout Early Access based on player input.

For individuals jumping aboard from the start of Early Access, they’ll have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the core essence of Fellowship, offering unlimited dungeon exploration for an action-packed experience from the get-go. Post the Early Access release, there will be a variety of appealing cosmetic purchases up for grabs, with these items only enhancing visual appeal and not affecting gameplay mechanics. Further details about these cosmetic additions will be disclosed closer to the Early Access launch date.

The complete 1.0 version of the game will incorporate additional content, systems, and features, as envisioned by the Chief Rebel team. They have a multitude of ideas for content and features, but they will also value player feedback and may modify their plans based on community suggestions. If something truly resonates with the community, they might make adjustments to ensure Fellowship evolves into the most exceptional game possible before its 1.0 launch next year.

The Early Access phase of the game is estimated to last around six months, but this timeframe may vary depending on community input. The Chief Rebel team aims to use feedback from players to help shape Fellowship into a truly remarkable game experience.

■ About the Upcoming Open Beta

Starting from September 18 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, the open beta for “Fellowship” on Steam will commence and continue until September 23 at 10:00 a.m. PT. Players will have access to servers in North America, Europe, and Asia during this testing phase. Participants will get to try out seven characters (two Tanks, three DPS including the newly unveiled Mara, and two Healers) from “Fellowship’s” varied roster of heroes. They can engage in dungeon runs (both Ranked Dungeons and Quick Play Dungeons), battle tough opponents, and collect valuable loot throughout their journey.

Compared to the Steam Next Fest demo in February, this Open Beta introduces a new DPS character, Mara, as well as new gameplay systems such as an innovative matchmaking and group finding approach, and an engaging progression system that includes Weapons, Gems, Talents, Crafting, Legendary items, and more. The Open Beta also introduces a new dungeon called “Urrak Markets,” new gameplay features like cosmetic customization to modify the appearance of armor pieces, new Gear, new Mounts, improved visual elements, and enhancements to previous mechanics based on feedback from Steam Next Fest players.

The Open Beta serves as an opportunity for Chief Rebel to test their improvements in multiplayer matchmaking and gather one final round of player feedback before the Early Access launch of “Fellowship.

Key Features

  • Gather Your Perfect Team – Play alongside your friends in teams with 4 Player Co-op Multiplayer in a rich, fantasy world full of challenging enemies and exciting rewards. Swap between a large pool of tank, healer and DPS roles with unique kits to build the perfect balance for your team.
  • Endless Scaling Replayability – Every run will feel like a brand-new challenge with dungeons that will get more difficult as players progress and level up. Players will never out level the game with seasonal updates, dungeon modifiers, new features and rewards that will keep each run fresh and exciting, adding another layer of replayability.
  • Unique and Complex Boss Mechanics – Each boss has unique and varied mechanics, for a fresh experience every run. Enemy skills grow as difficulty increases and additional modifiers continue to challenge players as they grow and improve.
  • Rewards, Loot, and Gear Galore – After each completed dungeon run, players will earn loot to make their characters even more powerful! The tougher the dungeon, the better the rewards.
  • Players will find that Fellowship‘s most unique feature that sets it apart is how it streamlines the dungeon running experience and how players can take part in endlessly scaling dungeon runs. Instead of grinding and spending hours to be able to access and go on endgame-like dungeon runs, with Fellowship, players can dive right into these types of dungeon runs from the beginning. Unlike other titles, including MMOs, there’s no barrier of entry at all—whether it’s time commitment-specific or needing to get through a ton of prerequisite content—for being able to jump into endgame dungeons in Fellowship. Both newcomers and seasoned veterans will discover they can get the dungeon experience they want from the start, as they can choose to play Quick Play that offer more casual 10-15-minute dungeon runs or Ranked that offers a more competitive experience with Curses, Ascensions and difficulty scaling that drastically change the dungeon running experience.
