All Kerotans & Ga-kos Chyornyj in Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater

The classic game, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater, has received a remake after more than two decades since its initial release. However, while many aspects of the game remain largely unchanged, some collectibles found within each level may not be in their original locations as you might recall from years ago. This guide will focus on the collectibles found within the level called Chyornyj.

In the marshy region at Chyornyj, you’ll notice that items are grouped closely together, either on land or very near it. Upon entering this area, take a moment to scan the ground, and you’re likely to spot many of the animals residing here, including snakes and frogs.

Additionally, you’ll find some objects scattered around, such as a smoke grenade, bobbing in one area of the water. These items aren’t necessarily collectibles, but it might be helpful to retrieve them while you’re already here. This is because progressing forward will lead you to the actual “hidden gems”, or secrets.

To locate the spots marked as Ga-ko and Kerotan on this map, kindly take a look at the provided image below for their precise positions. Interestingly, they are situated very close to each other within the map’s edge, although there’s a minor caveat…

The Ga-ko is quite amusing to identify, as it lounges comfortably on a branch above the water’s surface. Its distinct duck-like silhouette against the tree makes it hard to overlook. In contrast, the Kerotan can be found submerged underwater. To find the Kerotan, simply dive at the location where the Ga-ko is visible and look around the base of the tree. The Kerotan should be hiding down there.

That’s essentially everything for this level. You can find a GA-KO camouflage near the northeast region of the swamp. It’s partially submerged in the shallow water, so explore around the area where Snake is currently shown on the map above.
